New York City-based audio company (and a favorite here at Gear Diary), Master & Dynamic announced today a collaboration with fine artist Scott Campbell to create a special edition of their most popular headphones to expand their fleet.
The collaboration with Scott Campbell end up with two special editions of both the MW60 Wireless Over-Ear, and the MH40 Over-Ear headphones that feature black on black, and black on white snake designs with a bicoastal tattoo, complete with The Scott Campbell’s quotation “the smartest thing I ever did were stupid things for love” inside the ear cup (which is also a quote I feel is perfect for the upcoming holiday).
“I have always thought Scott’s work was quite genius. When I met Scott in Hong Kong, I learned we shared a willingness to take risks in pursuit of our dreams, even if it means sometimes making mistakes. Through this collaboration Scott can share his art more broadly with his fans, whether or not they are collectors of his fine art or tattoo enthusiasts,” said Jonathan Levine, Master & Dynamics’s Founder and CEO.
Scott Campbell was born in Louisiana and is known as one of the most talented tattoo and fine artists in the world. Currently living in LA, Scott owns Saved Tattoo in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, and had tatted some of your favorite celebrities (I’m soon to be one of them, I promise). One of his most notable mentions is attention to detail which resulted in his recognition in visual arts, such as carved sculptures made of U.S. currency, and graphite artwork based on experiences he had during a six-week stay in a maximum security prison in Mexico City.
Scott is a self-proclaimed “huge romantic”, who believes in making love the utmost priority, which is part of the reason this collaboration even exists.
