My Waterpik is part of my morning and evening ritual. It’s so central to my routine that, when Raina and I are traveling, I, and my gums, really miss it. That’s why I was so eager to check out the Waterpik Sidekick Water Flosser. It’s great for home use, but it is also small enough to take on the go.

Like all Waterpik devices, the Waterpik Sidekick Water Flosser is designed to produce a jet of water that gets between teeth and below the gumline to help get rid of the bacteria and debris that standard brushing and flossing miss.

What makes the Waterpik Sidekick Water Flosser different is its compact design. The flosser can be taken apart and packed into the included premium storage case that ships with the device.

Once packed inside, the flosser is small enough to fit into a large purse, a briefcase or, of course, a carry-on bag. As a result, it is travel-ready and can be used anywhere, anytime. The Waterpik Sidekick Water Flosser also has an easy-to-hold flossing stylus that integrates their classic tip with a swivel handle. The result is, “effortless access to all areas of the mouth.”

The company notes that while the Waterpik Sidekick is great for travel, it is also good for situations in which counter space is limited. And yet, despite its small size — the base of the Water Flosser is 4.84” high, 5.7” wide and 3.9” deep and weighs just over a pound — the Waterpik Sidekick “delivers all the clinically proven benefits of water flossing.”

The Waterpik Sidekick can remove up to 99.9% of plaque from treated areas. It is, in fact, clinically proven to be 50% more effective at improving gum health as compared to using floss alone. And, as noted, the water flosser can remove plaque and debris between teeth and below the gumline that brushing and string flossing can’t reach. The company also notes that their flossers work well for people who have implants, crowns, bridges, and veneers.

The Waterpik Sidekick has a few key components. There’s the base, the water reservoir, the flosser handle and stylus, and a power cable. The wall adapter is built into the underside of the base and can easily be pulled out for use or stowed when packed for travel. To use the flosser you:

• Pull the wall adapter from the base
• Connect the cable to the wall adapter and the base
• Fill the reservoir with water
• Place it on the base
• Push the power button on the top front of the base
• Use the slider on the side to adjust the pressure
• Floss

When you are done you simply dry everything out and pack it into the storage pouch.

The Water Flosser has a pressure range of 10 to 100 PSI. It has a flow rate of 13 Ounces (400 ML) per minute. (13 ounces is the capacity of the water reservoir.) It pulses at 1400 pulses per minute.

Features:

  • White And Satin Chrome Finish
  • Elegant, Compact Design
  • Easy-To-Hold Flossing Stylus With Swivel Handle And Integrated Classic Tip
  • Slide Pressure Control System With 5 Settings
  • Reservoir Inverts For Compact Transport & Storage
  • Reservoir Capacity Of 60+ Seconds
  • Sleek, Convenient Storage Case
  • Global Voltage (100 – 240VAC, 60/50Hz)

The design of the Waterpik Sidekick Water Flosser may be different from other Waterpik devices, but the experience, and the benefits, of using it is pretty much the same. The fact that you can use this device both at home and on the road makes this a great option for someone who wants to be sure they can water floss 365 days a year. It is available for $129.99, comes with a three-year warranty and is available in your choice of either black or white.

The Waterpik Sidekick Water Flosser is available directly from the manufacturer and from other retailers including Amazon [affiliate link].
