With pools opening this weekend for Memorial Day, if you are looking for a great Bluetooth speaker to take with you poolside, to the beach, or even near the grill, you should check out the Blitzwolf BW-AS1 Wireless Bluetooth Speaker.
After a successful Kickstarter campaign, the BW-AS1 is currently available to the masses at a special price of $59.99, which a slice of the traditional $79.99 price tag.
Boasting a 5200 mAh battery life, the Blitzwolf BW-AS1 will last you an entire afternoon at the beach, or close to seven hours at a reasonable listening level. I’ve had the opportunity to check the speaker out over the past few weeks in my home, and while I anticipate this being one of the speakers that I take with me to my beach chair, it’s totally not necessary for you to be outdoors to listen to your favorite tunes.
The Speaker comes with an additional AUX input to the speaker, you can have your friends tablet or smartphone connected to rock out in the kitchen, bathroom, anywhere you listen to your audio. If you opt for connecting through Bluetooth, the BW-AS1 comes with the latest Bluetooth 4.2 compatibilities so your connection will be seamless and won’t stutter like so many other speakers on the market.
Aesthetically, the alloy finish of the Blitzwolf BW-AS1 is a welcome change from the typical Black Bluetooth speakers that you see shelves, and should certainly make it stand out in practice, not just in looks but in audio. With dual 10-watt drivers, you’ll get 20 watts of sound that although not the crispest in vocals, will bring a bit of bass into a room or patio. When listening indoors the sound is a bit more isolated which allows you to hear with ease, so I look forward to finally taking it outdoors to put it through its paces.
There’s limited branding on the speaker, settling for the brand name on the front, and four bottoms at the top, including a power on/off button, Play/Pause button, and two buttons to turn the volume up and down.
There are no additional bass boost controls featured, with Blitzwolf settling for a more Bose-Like framing and build quality. I’m a bit scared of dropping the speaker outdoors and ruining the great silver aluminum alloy finish.
Other than this, I absolutely think the BW-AS1 is a steal of a deal that anyone should consider, as Blitzwolf stands by their quality products and as a personal fan of everything from their Bluetooth selfie stick to their lightning cables. The BW-AS1 is a lot of the same: a great product by an up and coming brand who puts their heart and souls in each product. Blitzwolf, you’ve got a fan in me!

What I Like: Alloy finish is awesome to look at; Audio quality for the price is actually quite stellar
What Needs Improvement: I’d personally like to see USB-C charging be implemented in their products going forward
