We’re Not Using Grandma’s Toilet Anymore, Toto!

Bathrooms are one of those areas where you may not give too much thought to innovation. Maybe you change the taps on your sink, or swap out the showerhead, but have you ever considered a zero-gravity bathtub? Or a toilet inspired by a pottery wheel? TOTO has, and they’ve blessed us all with the news of a $13,000 toilet.

We're Not Using Grandma's Toilet Anymore, Toto!

Hold that thought on the toilet, because first, we need to discuss the “Flotation Tub with ZERO DIMENSION“. This bathtub has special jets that let you float weightlessly in the water, and they argue this makes the bathing experience more relaxing. At $19,269, that’s some expensive relaxation! There’s not a lot of information out there about the Flotation Tub, but they do have this very soothing video:

Now, on to the NEOREST NX2 toilet. It is water efficient, has a UV light cleaning system, a remote-controlled automatic toilet seat, front and rear warm water washers, a warm air dryer, a heated seat, air deodorizer, and nightlight. I’m still blown away by the concept of a $13,000 toilet, but I will admit the idea of a toilet that can self-clean is pretty cool. If it could also self-clean the area AROUND the toilet for those of us with small boys who are still learning how to aim — that would truly make it worth the money.

If you’re really into the luxury toilet experience, Toto offers a number of options, though I really feel like once you’ve committed to the concept of luxury toilets, you might as well go for the best model possible and make sure to future-proof your commode.
