Remember the scene in Jurassic World where the protagonists tour the island and —spoiler alert — are eventually attacked by dinosaurs inside futuristic-looking gyrospheres? Well, Segway was inspired by these vehicles to create the Segway S-Pod, a safe, self-balancing personal transportation vehicle built for enclosed campuses like airports and malls. Segway-Ninebot is also debuting the new Kickscooter Air T15 as well.
While just a concept at this time, the Segway S-Pod is an exciting new design that offers passengers safe, quick transportation with a very minimal learning curve. The S-Pod is self-balancing and is operated by an intuitive assistive navigation panel. The S-Pod spins and rotates from the center, which makes the movement extremely smooth. The S-Pod also offers wide-angle views for the rider, which is great for use in touristy areas. The rider does not need to physically lean forward and back to accelerate or slow down. S-Pod uses an adaptive center-of-gravity automatic control system to enable the passenger to easily adjust the speed by handling the knob to change the center of gravity in the pod. Also, since the “brake” is placed by the shift of the center of gravity, it eliminates the possibility of the S-Pod tipping over in any situation.
