LG WebOS 6.0 Paired with Their Magic Remote Makes for an Enjoyable, Intuitive 2021 Television Viewing Experience

LG’s webOS 6.0 has just been announced for their 2021 fleet of televisions, which will include their new OLED, QNED Mini LED, NanoCell, and UHD Smart TVs. The new LG Magic Remote, which will come with those TVs, makes it easier and more fun for users to find their next great series to binge on when using webOS 6.0.

Paired with the LG Magic Remote, the upgraded LG ThinQ AI in webOS 6.0 now supports new voice commands for both Alexa and Google Assistant; with it, you’ll be able to manage your favorite TV shows and search for your next marathon obsession across streaming services, internet, and broadcast channels more easily than ever.

If you’ve used webOS on an LG SmartTV before, you’ll notice that the webOS 6.0 homescreen has been attractively updated and redesigned for enhanced usability. WebOS 6.0 has been reworked with the idea of meeting viewer’s everchanging content consumption habits. The new home screen will give faster access to your most frequently used apps, and content discovery based on your preferences and viewing history is now more streamlined.

LG’s new Magic Remote comes complete with easily identifiable hotkeys for accessing your favorite apps like Prime Video, Disney+, and Netflix. The Magic Remote also features Magic Tap, a one-touch Near Field Communication (NFC) function that lets you touch a Magic Remote with an NFC-enabled smartphone to instantly share the content on your phone’s screen to your LG TV, or share content from your TV to your phone. You’ll also be able to share content stored on your phone with your TV for others to enjoy.

With LG’s latest AI Technology, TV voice controls, you’ll be able to get the info you need by talking to the Magic Remote. Magic Explorer will give information about the content showing onscreen, so you can learn more about the actors in the show, the locations it was filmed in, and other items of interest as you watch the show. You can even shop for products showing on select broadcast channels and LG TV services including Live TV, Gallery, Settings, and TV Guide by changing the color of the cursor whenever Magic Explorer has information to share. The New Next Picks feature will pay attention to your viewing preferences and help you discover more content tailored just for your viewing tastes. Based on your viewing history, Net Picks can recommend two live broadcast or set-top box programs as well as one video on demand title or app that Next Picks thinks you’ll like. All that’s left is for the LG webOS 6.0 and the Magic Remote to be able to order your favorite pizza on movie night!
