Qualcomm announced their new Snapdragon 8cx Gen 3 computer platform at the Snapdragon Summit in December. PCs with the Snapdragon 8cx Gen 3 computer platform promise to be always on and always connected, so their users can work anywhere without sacrificing productivity, connectivity, collaboration, or security. The first computer to employ this new technology is Lenovo’s new ThinkPad X13s Gen 1!
The Snapdragon 8cx Gen 3 computer platform leverages the technology Qualcomm has developed in recent years and takes it to the next level.
At a time when data security continues to be a growing threat, the new platform is equipped with the Qualcomm Secure Processing Unit running Microsoft Pluton, Qualcomm AI Engine, and Zero Trust sensor framework. That makes it more secure than ever.
But that’s just the beginning as it makes possible Windows 11 PCs that are enterprise-ready with superior 5G connectivity, AI-accelerated experiences, and robust security.
Because desirable features like face detection, background blur, and audio noise suppression can be offloaded to the Snapdragon compute platform’s integrated Qualcomm AI Engine, power optimization increases, and users will have a more engaging experience.
And first out of the gate sporting Snapdragon 8cx Gen 3 is the new Lenovo ThinkPad X13s, which will deliver a range of features mobile workers have been asking for, including 5G mmWave connectivity and AI-accelerated experiences combined with advanced camera and audio technology.
The Lenovo ThinkPad X13s, which will get up to 28 hours of battery life; at 2.35 pounds, is an incredibly light, fanless laptop that can go anywhere your work takes you while keeping your work safe and secure.
Truly a laptop for 2022, the Lenovo ThinkPad X13s is built with 90% recycled magnesium in the top and bottom covers and PCC plastic. Even the packaging is recyclable!
The lightweight and earth-friendly ThinkPad X13s will be available in May, starting at $1,099; it will also be coming to AT&T and Verizon later this year.
We’re excited that Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8cx Gen 3 computer platform enhances the performance of Lenovo’s excellent design, and we appreciate Qualcomm’s commitment to always on and always connected 5G computing!
