I recently reviewed the EcoFlow Delta Max portable power station. The battery system is a true game-changer for anyone needing portable backup power. Without a power source to charge the battery, it becomes somewhat limited. Enter the EcoFlow 400W Solar Panel. This lightweight, robust solar panel keeps the Delta Max powered and ready for action.

The EcoFlow 400W Solar Panel features a compact, folding design allowing users to easily carry the panel anywhere that it’s needed. With an IP68 waterproof surface, the solar cells are protected from debris, dust, and water. These provide a lot of power to be able to move so easily.

The handy case with a shoulder strap helps with easy transport and doubles as a kickstand for the panel. The solar panel comes in the case and includes a user manual.

The case’s material is rugged, and the zipper is really nice. I do not know if it is waterproof, but it seals well and is very smooth. The package also comes with clips to assist in standing the panel up and a user manual. The shoulder straps make the closed panel, which weighs about 42 pounds, easy to carry.

The unfolded panels measure 93.1″ long by 43.7″ wide by 1.0″ thick and offer a 22% conversion rate.

I was surprised by how thin yet strong the panels are. This makes them much easier to move around, and they should last for a long time. The panels sport an IP68 waterproof surface that protects the cells from water, dust, and other debris; these are rugged!

To stand up the panel, open it on top of the case. The clips can connect and simply lift the more rigid side. Once stood up, you angle the panel to keep it upright. The first time was a bit cumbersome, but it becomes super easy once you figure out how it leans.

As the sun moves across the sky, the panel is adjustable from 40-90 degrees to capture the most sun rays.

After I got the hang of how the self-supporting case works, it was easy to move the panel toward the sun and adjust the lean. It also only takes me minutes to set it up and take it down and place it safely back in the case.

The 400w solar panel connects easily via the universally recognized MC4 connectors. The EcoFlow Delta Max comes with a handy conversion cable.

The provided connector from EcoFlow plugs into the Delta Max and immediately begins charging. There is no need for a solar controller when using the Ecoflow family as their products have it built-in.

I waited three days to have any sun to do this review, and the best I got, was mostly cloudy. Even with the conditions, I was impressed with the amount of power the solar panel puts out.

The Delta Max display lets you know how much power is coming in, and the charging time will adjust accordingly. I caught a decent photo while a cloud was covering the sun, but the watts went almost as high as 300 times.

Having a 400w panel of superior quality that is also portable is a huge game-changer. We will travel with it while out camping and keep it ready for tropical and thunderstorm season, which often leaves us without power.
