Minimalistic Nomad x Orbitkey Key Organizer Leads Latest Accessory Release Listen to this article

Nomad, one of our favorite accessory companies, has been on a roll lately, releasing some fun new products. Just in time for summer, there’s a new Nomad Sports Slim Band for Apple Watch and a Nomad Leather Cover for Apple’s Siri Remote that protects the remote and helps you keep track of it. And there’s a new Nomad x Orbitkey Key Organizer too. Here’s a quick look at each.

The Sport Slim Band for Apple Watch

I love my Nomad Titanium Band for Apple Watch; it looks great, is comfortable, and is classy. But it is also a bit heavy for summertime, and since I use my Apple Watch to track laps while swimming in my pool, it’s not ideal.

The Sport Slim Band for Apple Watch

The new Sport Slim Band is a much better option for summer. The lightweight feels like nothing but still has the durability of Nomad’s other offerings.

The band is made from FKM fluoroelastomer rubber that is light, tough, and 100% waterproof. That makes it perfect if you have one of the recent, waterproof Apple Watches.

As you would expect, it has the typical attachment design, so it easily slips into the slots on either side of the Apple Watch. It also means it is simple to swap in the Sport Slim Band when exercising and then swap a more refined band back onto the watch when you are heading out for the evening.

The underside of the band has ventilation channels that help keep your wrist warm in the heat and add to its flexibility and comfort on your wrist.

Finally, it has a custom stainless steel closure pin and a tuck closure that slips the “excess” band material under the rest of the band for a secure fit. It’s a simple but effective design that keeps the watch in place so you can move, swim, run or bike without concern that the watch will fall off.

While the light color of my review sample doesn’t look great on my Apple Watch, I’ve been using the sample I was sent because it is incredibly comfortable. Available in Sage, Glacier Blue, Bone, and Black, the band sells for $59.95.

Nomad Leather Cover for Siri Remote and AirTag

Apple’s Siri Remote V2 was a huge improvement over its predecessor. It has a sneaker design, more functionality, and Siri voice control. But it’s so thin and relatively small that it’s easy to misplace.

Trust me, the number of times I’ve wanted to watch something but first had to hunt down the remote because it had fallen between the cushions on my couch or underneath a chair or table are too numerous to count.

Add in the fact that the shoe remote has a beautiful aluminum finish on the bottom that scratches like nobody’s business.

Nomad Leather Cover for Siri Remote and AirTag

Nomad’s new Leather Cover for Siri Remote and AirTag takes care of both minor annoyances. Made from the same gorgeous Horween leather Nomad uses in many of its leather products, the Siri Remote Cover has a refined look. As the leather develops a patina over time, it will gain more personality.

But while the cover, which easily snaps in and off the remote, adds personality and protection to the Siri Remote, I’m not sure that alone makes enough of a compelling case for something like this. But that’s only a small part of why one might want this accessory.

The leather cover is actually thicker than it initially appears or has to be if it were merely protecting the remote. That’s because, within it, there is a spot for one of Apple’s AirTags, so you can place an AirTag into the leather cover before you insert the remote.

Once the remote is inserted, the AirTag is not only hidden from view but is also held securely in place. From there, it is as easy as using the Find My App to trigger the AirTag’s audible notification when it is “lost.” And while a “misplaced Siri Remote” is the epitome of a “first world problem,” as a habitual “remote misplacer,” I’m a fan.

The Nomad Leather Cover for Siri Remote and AirTag sells for $39.95 and is available in Ashland Brown.

Finally, Nomad collaborated with Orbitkey to create a key organizer that stores one’s keys in a compact and functional stack that slips easily into a pocket.

The Nomad x Orbitkey Key Organizer is made from Horween leather and has a modern, stitchless construction and a PVD-coated stainless steel D-ring so you can connect your car’s remote or attach it to a carabiner for added security.

A minimalist’s dream, the Nomad x Orbitkey Key Organizer is part of the company’s growing line of leather everyday carry goods. Available in Rustic Brown that will develop a unique patina over time, it sells for $49.95.
