The Lowdown
After using the Lenovo Slim 7 Pro X, I can confidently say that it is light enough to carry yet also very usable for long periods of typing, and the 70Wh battery is plenty for a day’s use. But where this laptop really shines is in its performance; with 32GB of RAM and a fast AMD Ryzen 9 processor, this is a true workhorse.

My oldest son is about to graduate high school and needs a computer to attend college; as a result, I’ve spent a lot of time looking at prices and specs, looking for something that can handle some light gaming as well as coursework. Perhaps you’re in the same boat? If that’s the case, the Lenovo Slim 7 Pro X is an excellent choice.
The Lenovo Slim 7 Pro X measures 12.92″ long by 8.72″ wide by 0.63″ thick and weighs in at only 3.2 pounds. This laptop is perfect for on the go, whether for work or school. Don’t let the size fool you; the Slim 7 Pro X packs a lot into its rigid, storm gray aluminum chassis.
The laptop’s 14.5″ glossy touchscreen has a 3K (3,072 x 1920) resolution with a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate in a 16:10 ratio, which is a bit taller and less wide than a traditional laptop. If you haven’t used a laptop with this type of screen ratio, it’s perfectly suited for seeing more vertical content when surfing the web or working on documents. I found the taller display to work equally well whether working and creating or watching media and gaming.
I rarely use the touch screen on a laptop, but I appreciated how responsive it is on the Slim 7 Pro X. The screen also opens flat, which allows the option to use the touch screen while creating content.
One issue I often find with smaller laptops is that the keyboards can feel crowded and throw off my touch typing, but that’s not been the case with the Lenovo Slim 7 Pro X. The back-lit, concave keys are large and comfortable, and they have a high-quality feel. The spacing also worked well for me, as I didn’t have any accidental key presses, nor did I ever feel cramped.
I also appreciate the large touchpad; it is a simple design, but it works flawlessly and provides plenty of room. All in all, I found this laptop to be comfortable even when working on long projects.
The Lenovo Slim 7 Pro X also has plenty of ports and is powered via USB-C. There’s also a headphone/mic combo port, a USB-A 3.2 Gen 1 (battery charging) port, and a power button. The right side contains a physical webcam shutter switch, so you can easily protect your privacy by blocking the 1080p front-facing webcam. I should mention that I appreciate the 1080p vs. a 720p webcam, as it provides a much better experience in video calls!
The left side includes another USB A 3.2 Gen 1 port and two USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 display ports with power delivery and 10Gbps data transfer. I would have liked to have seen USB-C ports on both sides, but I like that many port options are available overall.
While most will probably use headphones on the go, there are two 2W speakers with Dolby Atmos on the keyboard; for built-in speakers, the sound is pretty decent.
A slim laptop with a brilliant screen and decent speakers won’t matter if there is insufficient processing power to make it practical, but the Lenovo Slim 7 Pro X includes some pretty impressive internals.
The AMD Ryzen 9 6900HS (8Core) Processor is coupled with 32GB of RAM, a 1TB NVMe SSD, and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 GPU. These are pretty impressive specs for such a slim computer. I found everyday work tasks and writing for Gear Diary to be lightning fast. Utilizing multiple tabs and programs is smooth, and I have yet to experience a slowdown. There is plenty of power to enjoy your favorite media and games.
After installing a couple of Xbox games on the Lenovo Slim 7 Pro X, I was pretty impressed with its speed. There may be cases where the settings would need to be lowered for some games, but even after adjusting, they look and play great. I am not a heavy gamer, but I enjoyed the experience, and I love the screen. While this isn’t necessarily a gaming laptop, it certainly has enough power to run some casual options.
Watching videos is a fantastic experience on the Lenovo Slim 7 Pro X. The screen resolution and colors are really impressive, and the included speakers provide great stereo sound.
The Lenovo Slim 7 Pro X is a feature-filled option if you’re looking for a slim yet powerful computer; the aluminum chassis is attractive and provides a rigid, premium feel. The 3K touchscreen display is impressive and looks great while working, gaming, or watching videos. The 1080p webcam is a nice touch, and I like the switch to turn it off while not in use.
Whether creating content, watching videos, or casually gaming, the Lenovo Slim 7 Pro X works very well, making it an excellent tool for work and school; it’s a premium laptop experience in a slim, portable package.
The Lenovo Slim 7 Pro X retails for $1599.99; it is available in this exact configuration from Costco, where it is on sale for $1299.99 until December 25th.

This would be perfect for my wife because the light, but sturdy, design. It seems to have the power that she needs to do her thing online as well.
This looks and sounds like everything I’d lobe and need out of a laptop
good laptop
So many great features, and I am excited about the backlit keyboard. I would have liked a separate numeric keypad but understand the need to conserve real estate.
