Nomad Rocky Point Band Is the Ultimate Apple Watch Strap Upgrade for Comfort and Durability

I love that, after several generations and new designs, Apple Watches all still use the same bands. That means bands from the first Apple Watch still work with my current generation watch. At the same time, companies continue to introduce great new bands, so there is ever-greater comfort and durability; the Nomad Rocky Point Band is the latest example of this.

Nomad Rocky Point Band

The Nomad Rocky Point Band was “designed from the ground up to complement your Apple Watch and boost its functionality on adventures near and far.”

Made from durable compression-molded FKM and titanium hardware, Nomad considered every design aspect to deliver a comfortable, durable, and adventure-ready band.

Rocky Point Band’s ultra-tough FKM body is 100% waterproof and won’t tear under stress, making it the perfect companion for even the most demanding adventures.

For the past few months, I’ve been swapping between my Nomad Titanium Band and the basic rubber band that originally came with my Apple Watch Series 9.

I love the Apple band’s light weight, but that’s about it. The Nomad Rocky Point Band has several added benefits and advantages over it.

The FKM fluoroelastomer rubber used in the Nomad Rocky Point Band’s construction is light, durable, and 100% waterproof. Its grade 2 titanium hardware is also light, durable, and 100% waterproof. That means this watch band can go anywhere and will continue to look great.

The band’s FKM is smooth and lightweight, creating a barely-there feel. A z-shaped transition section contours snugly around your wrist and breathability channels protect against sweat and moisture.

But there’s more. The Apple Band I’ve been using has a flat surface on the side that sits on my wrist. On hot days, it gets hot, sweaty, and uncomfortable.

The Nomad Rocky Point Band is thicker, but it is far more comfortable thanks to an a-shaped transition section and ventilation grooves carved into the underside of the band. These grooves allow for increased airflow and breathability on warm days and help the band dry out more rapidly if you get caught in the rain or go for a swim.

It is a small detail that isn’t obvious while wearing the band, but it makes a huge difference in terms of comfort.

The Rocky Point Band was designed for Apple’s Ultra and Ultra 2 watches, so it’s a bit wider than most bands. Still, it works just fine with my Apple Watch Series 9 and all previous versions of Apple Watch and has quickly become my band of choice.

The Nomad Rocky Point Band is available in Strom (gray), Atlantic (blue), and Sol (yellow). Each has natural titanium hardware and costs $80. You can check it out and get one here.
