Flowtica is extending its smart-pen system beyond recorded meetings with the new Flowtica Scribe + Folio bundle, arriving August 25, 2026. The pairing combines the company’s $159 Scribe recording pen with a $39 refillable notebook whose pages can be photographed, cleaned up, searched, and turned into editable notes or follow-up tasks in the free Flowtica app. It’s aimed at people who still prefer handwriting during meetings but don’t want those notes disappearing into a desk drawer afterward. The idea is simple: keep writing on paper, then give that paper a useful digital afterlife that stays easy to find.
Bringing Paper Notes Into the Same Workspace
The Folio doesn’t try to replace handwriting with a screen. Instead, each page includes a small Flowtica mark that the app recognizes when you photograph the entire page. The app then enhances the image by brightening, sharpening, and cleaning it up without changing the handwriting itself. From there, the page can become a searchable Memo or a follow-up, with action items converted into to-dos.
That matters because Flowtica’s existing Scribe system is built primarily around meetings. The pen records conversations, transfers them to the companion app, and can generate transcripts, summaries, speaker labels, and follow-up items. Adding handwritten pages to the same searchable library could make the system more useful for anyone whose meeting workflow is split between what was said aloud and whatever they scribbled in the margins while it was happening.
Consider a project meeting where three people discuss deadlines while you sketch a rough layout and circle the two decisions that need attention. The audio recording preserves the discussion, while the Folio page preserves the sketch and your handwritten emphasis. Being able to search both later is more useful than discovering, two weeks afterward, that the crucial half of the meeting is living in a notebook you left at home.
The Folio Is More Than Special Paper
Flowtica designed the Folio as a reusable traveler’s-style notebook rather than a disposable bound book. The Cognac cover is made from 100% recycled leather with a microfiber-suede lining, and a horizontal elastic keeps it closed. There are two card slots and a slim sleeve for receipts, loose notes, or the business card you swear you’ll deal with before it becomes archaeological evidence.
The included insert uses ivory 100 gsm paper, which is relatively substantial notebook stock, and contains about 90 pages. Its Snap It layout combines dot-grid and ruled formatting. The original insert measures 3.9 × 5.5″ (100 × 140 mm), but the cover can also accommodate A6 and other common pocket-size inserts. Replacement inserts will be sold separately, although Flowtica didn’t provide a price in the announcement.
Folded, the Folio measures 6.5 × 4.7″ (16.5 × 12 cm) and weighs about 9.2 ounces (260 grams) with the insert installed. The pen strap is sized specifically for the Scribe, so the pen and notebook should travel as a pair without the pen bouncing around inside a bag.
What the Scribe Adds to the Equation
The $159 Flowtica Scribe is an aluminum recording pen weighing 34.5 grams, with 32GB of onboard storage for up to 4,000 hours of offline recordings. It can record up to 30 hours on its own battery, or up to 100 hours with the charging case.
Its microphone system has a claimed pickup range of 16.4′, and Flowtica’s transcription tools can distinguish and label as many as 15 speakers while supporting 39 languages. The company calls its fast phone-transfer system FlowTran, with a claimed transfer speed about 10 times faster than standard Bluetooth. As an example, a 45-minute recording is said to transfer in about 170 seconds. Apple’s Made for iPhone (MFi) certification is also part of the system, providing an Apple-certified data connection intended to make transfers faster and more stable.
The Scribe’s FlowMark feature lets you flag moments during a recording without stopping to organize them. One tap marks a point worth revisiting, while a double tap can designate a follow-up. The app also includes Ask Flowtica, a plain-language search tool for finding information across saved sessions, and Snap It, the photo-based feature the Folio is designed to use. Generated follow-ups can be pushed to Google Calendar or Apple Calendar, and the charging case supports Apple Find My if it decides to vanish into the same mysterious dimension that collects earbuds and charging cables.
There is an important usage-limit wrinkle even though the basic service doesn’t require an ongoing fee. Scribe ownership includes unlimited standard artificial intelligence (AI) transcription for the life of the pen, while the more advanced transcription features, including speaker identification, summaries, to-dos, and visual notes, come with 300 AI minutes per month. Anyone routinely recording long meetings will want to pay attention to that distinction.
Pricing Makes the Bundle Easy to Decode
The Flowtica Scribe + Folio bundle will be available August 25, 2026, for $188, which combines the $159 pen with the Folio at its discounted $29 bundle price. The Folio will also be available on its own for $39, with one insert included.
Flowtica will additionally offer a $238 Complete Set + Folio package. The supplied announcement doesn’t spell out everything included in that Complete Set, so shoppers comparing the two bundles should check the product listing before ordering rather than assuming what the extra $50 covers.
For someone who already keeps meeting notes entirely on a laptop, the Folio may be unnecessary.
