Rheos Sunglasses Review: They Continue to Impress with Their Nylon Optics That Float

Rheos Sunglasses are made for the water but are great just about anywhere. Made with floating plastic frames and polarized nylon optics, Rheos sunglasses are unique for sure. I’ve worn my previous pair everywhere, from the beach to the pool and even skiing. Best of all, they retail for only $55.

We’ve reviewed Rheos sunglasses in the past; however, my favorite pair broke when I took them skiing — they got crushed in my jacket while carrying a bunch of equipment. The hinge is where the glasses broke, so I reached out to Rheos to see if I could get a replacement arm; they offered to send a brand new pair with a new hinge design, instead.

I felt the Waders would be the best fit for my face, and I chose the simple combination of black frames with black lenses. The Waders feature a classic design with the simple Rheos logo on the arms. The Waders are built using Rheos’ featherlight floating frames and polarized, nylon optic lenses. Rheos even offers a lifetime warranty on their frames and a 1-year warranty on the lenses, allowing you to keep adventuring without concern.

The nylon optic lenses are really cool. They provide 100% UV protection and offer premium polarization while being clearer and lighter than glass. These nylon optic lenses are rated for 120 continuous exposure to humidity and saltwater as well. The nylon lenses are so light, combined with the lightweight frames, making the Rheos sunglasses a pleasure to wear.
