DJI Osmo Action 6 Goes Big on 8K, Smarter Framing, and a Better Amazon Bundle Deal

The DJI Osmo Action 6 brings several useful changes to the action-camera category, including an adjustable f/2.0 to f/4.0 aperture, a new 1/1.1″ square sensor, 8K/30fps recording, and 50GB of usable built-in storage. This Amazon bundle also includes two extra batteries, a 64GB microSDXC card, and a 58-piece accessory kit, so you won’t have to start hunting for mounts and spare power before you’ve shot a single clip. It’s still a small, rugged camera meant to go places your phone shouldn’t, but DJI is giving it enough flexibility to handle far more than bike rides, ski runs, and snorkeling trips.

SJCAM SJ30 8K Dual-Lens Action Camera Review: Can It Compete with the Big Boys?

I enjoy testing small cameras to see whether they can replace or augment my iPhone for capturing video content. Most of the time, I rely solely on my iPhone, but other times I want a dedicated camera. I’ve reviewed many SJCAM cameras over the years, and while they are well-made and easy to use, they haven’t been quite good enough to earn a permanent spot in my camera toolbox. When the offer to review the new SJCAM SJ30 8K Dual-Lens Action Camera came in, I was curious enough to accept. Will this one be the best SJCAM yet? Let’s find…

XTU S7 Pro Action Camera Review: Dual-Screen, Wi-Fi Action Camera That Punches Way Above Its Class

XTU manufactures a range of cameras, including a trail camera, smart doorbell camera, dashcam, and its new flagship action camera, the XTU S7 Pro, which offers some impressive specifications, especially for an action camera priced in the middle of the market. The action camera category has grown significantly in recent years, with models ranging from under $100 to more than $700. Any newcomer will inevitably be compared with higher-end options from GoPro, DJI, and Insta360, many of which cost two to three times as much as the S7 Pro. So, how does this more affordable action camera stack up?

DJI Osmo Pocket 4P First Look: The Tiny Camera That Made This Writer Want to Create

I am not a capital “C” creator by any stretch of the imagination. I have a fledgling YouTube channel, but for the most part, I make my living with my keyboard. But I was invited to get a hands-on preview of the new DJI Osmo Pocket 4P, and I have to say — I might be changing my mind. The device is tiny and very simple to use. It comes with everything you need to be a creator, except the mind to know what to shoot — that’s still your responsibility. But for everything else, there’s the Osmo Pocket 4P….

The 2024 action camera market offers a wide range of design, quality, and price options, from under $40 to over $400. GoPro’s iconic design remains the most popular, with many brands offering similar styles at varied specs and prices, making it tough to choose. Icefox stands out with two nearly identical 4K cameras, the Model 18 and Model 19. This review focuses on the Icefox UHD 4K Action Camera (Model 18).

Insta360 X4 Is an 8K 360 Camera That Reaches New Heights in Shooting and Editing

Insta360’s newest camera has some very impressive specifications and equally impressive features. The Insta360 X4 is the company’s latest flagship 360 camera; it offers 8K 360-degree video and 5.6K at 60 fps or 4K at 100 fps. The image quality represented in the company’s sample videos is a huge step forward. When combined with the ability to “shoot first, point later” and the invisible selfie stick, the creative possibilities have no limits. The X4 can also be used as a traditional action camera using a single lens, providing smooth, ultra-wide 4K at 60fps.

SJCam C300 Review: A Tiny, Inexpensive Action Camera with Many Accessories

It would not be surprising if many are unfamiliar with SJCam, yet the Chinese company has been making low-cost action cameras since 2011. The SJCam C300 is a recent addition to their product line, and at $159.00, it has quite a lot to offer. Those familiar with the GoPro Hero and DJI Osmo Action cameras will immediately ask how does this much-less-expensive camera compare? The quick answer is not particularly well, but considering those cameras cost three times as much, we need to examine the C300 further.

CONTOUR POV Action Cameras Are Back!

I was a big fan of the CONTOUR ROAM2 Action Camera. It was simple to use, simple to mount and took great video. Sadly the company suddenly closed its doors last summer. I was bummed because I really do love using the review sample. Now the company has relaunched and is once again offering their great CONTOUR POV Action Cameras.
