I was driving in the car and a tune came on that was awesome. It wasn’t familiar and I wanted to make sure I could hear it again so…
at the stop sign of course, I pulled out my iPad, fired up SoundHound, and I searched for the song.
It was Dropped by Phantom Planet, and it is one of my new favorites!!
I left the app open and, a short time later, glanced down at the iPad. I was surprised to find the lyrics right there. NICE! But then I got a real surprise- the lyrics were moving. Yes, as each line of the song was sung the lyrics appeared in the app’s lyric window. When it was an instrumental they stopped. When the lyrics started to flow in the music again so did the text.
As Judie put it when I mentioned it, “Slick!”
And with a tap, the lyrics blew up and filled the entire screen. Slick*2!!
It was pretty awesome and I tested it with a few other songs.
There is a free, ad-supported version of sound hound but if you pay a few dollars you not only get rid of the advertisements, but you also get some great added features like video clips, the ability to open up a new Pandora station based on the song and much more. This is one awesome iOS application that you are going to want.
