Disney Infinity: Marvel Super Heroes

Disney Infinity’s Marvel expansion brings superhero characters to “the latest chapter of Disney Infinity” (a.k.a. 2.0 Edition) – Disney Infinity: Marvel Super Heroes. This next iteration of the Disney Infinity video game, which released in August 2013 through October 2013. will include characters from the Marvel Universe.

Players will also enjoy Toy Box feature improvements and reverse compatibility for the existing Disney Infinity figures and power discs (not the play sets).

Disney and Marvel Entertainment announced these character action figures will offer over 20 figures beginning with Black Widow, Captain America, Hawkeye, Hulk, Iron Man, and Thor. Disney Infinity 2.0: Marvel Super Heroes starter packs will be available in fall 2014 on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, Wii U, PC, iOS. Marvel comic writer Brian Michael Bendis wrote original storylines for Disney Infinity: Marvel Super Heroes. Look for more details in our upcoming E3 coverage.

Disney Infinity: Marvel Super Heroes has some important gear updates too. The PlayStation 3 base (USB connection) will work with the PlayStation 4, but the Xbox 360 base will not work with the Xbox One. Look like no Nintendo 3DS release either.

Developed by Avalanche Software and published by Disney Interactive Studios, the best-selling Disney Infinity synergizes action figures and video games by expanding interactivity by “syncing” physical pieces with the game. Disney Infinity offers an all ages gaming experience where players roam open worlds, take on adventures, and build/experience Toy Box environment creations on current video game consoles, the Nintendo 3DS handheld console, and tablets/PCs/mobile.

Players need the game and the base, which they use for interactions with the figures and set pieces. Power discs can be placed under figures or set pieces. All components on the base can be placed intuitively by shape and can be switched or removed at any time. Players can also use the webcode cards on www.disney.com/infinity to unlock new web content.

Disney Infinity’s Marvel expansion creates more excitement in this game series that could also be looking at another slew of Disney characters (e.g. Daisy Duck, Minnie Mouse, Brave, Aladdin, Up, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Peter Pan, Pocahontas, Tarzan, Wall-E, Sleeping Beauty (with villain Maleficent), and Snow White) for the third iteration … or possibly debut the Star Wars for the Disney Infinity 3.0 Edition”.
