Disney’s new streaming service has been on the want list for a lot of cord-cutters since its announcement, and if you are a lucky Verizon Wireless or Verizon FiOS customer, you might be eligible to get the service for free.
When the Galaxy S9 and S9+ were announced last month at MWC, and Samsung introduced AR Emoji as a new feature, Samsung said that they would be collaborating with Disney for some special AR Emoji.

When we reviewed Star Wars: Jedi Challenges last month, we expected that Lenovo and Disney would be pushing out new content for the system over time. They haven’t disappointed us, and have just announced that new content is coming that is inspired by Star Wars Episode 8 The Last Jedi.
I have not had cable for almost three years. Instead, everyone in my house relies on Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon Prime for their entertainment needs, all on a Roku 3. It works quite well, and we probably pay around $25/month for the three services. Platinum Box is claiming to do the same thing but for free …
Lenovo’s Star Wars: Jedi Challenges is arguably the most exciting use of augmented reality we’ve seen to date. To that effect, for anyone who has ever wanted to experience the feeling of what it’s like to wield a lightsaber (and that’s most of us) then this is the closest you’ll probably ever get to that experience. But sheesh – it turns out that wielding a lightsaber is a total workout! Who knew?
Like millions of others I have seen and LOVED Star Wars: The Force Awakens. As a long time fan of films and games and books, I loved seeing things from or derived from the ‘Expanded Universe’ that were immediately familiar. In fact, everything about this great new entry was awesome … but since then I have realized what it meant to the REST of the Expanded Universe: death. So many of us, especially as we enter the holiday season, fondly remember our favorite childhood toys – Barbie, G.I. Joe, Tinkertoys, Lincoln Logs, Lite-Brite, Legos, etc. For me it was the View-Master, that handheld plastic stereoscopic viewer that connected me with exotic locations around the globe. Now Mattel has relaunched the View-Master for the modern, high-tech era.
I remember being a kid and getting books that were “novelizations” of movies. In fact, I’m 99% sure I had the entire Star Wars trilogy in novel form as well as the (now not-canon) Timothy Zahn trilogy. Disney is continuing the tradition for “The Force Awakens”, but they apparently don’t trust bookstores, because the novel will be ebook-only at release!
Disney is revamping their digital movies site, Disney Movies Anywhere. They really want you to buy their videos and sign up with their service, and they’re offering a great incentive. Sign up for Disney’s new site, and link your favorite account (iTunes, Amazon, etc) and Disney will give you a free digital copy of Monsters, Inc! Disney will have a dedicated app available as well on Amazon Fire and XBox, but you can also access any videos you buy from Disney…
We have and adore a Roku 3 hooked up to our TV. It has a slew of channels from Netflix to Amazon Prime to Disney Jr., plus some light games. A brand new Roku 3 with voice search clocks in at $99, and the compact streaming stick at $39.99. So is playing iTunes Videos worth the rumored $149 for the new Apple TV?
Leading motor company Ford Motors, ahead of their 5th annual trend conference, Further with Ford, has announced a handful of the first apps to be compatible with AppLink for SYNC 3, their latest update to their platform.
Marvel and Disney’s relationship is an odd one that I’m pretty much on the fence about. But I’m appreciative of films like Avengers and Guardians of the Galaxy so I was super excited when they announced Ant-Man would show up on the silver screen. And we now have a trailer to go with it.
