Since the September 23rd launch, Disney Infinity Marvel Super Heroes figures, starter packs, and play-set adventures have literally been flying off the store shelves for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, Wii U, PC, and iOS. Avengers, Guardians of the Galaxy, and Spider-Man are all represented in this second coming of the popular hybrid toy / video game.
As Disney Infinity 2.0 takes off, players can still use their 4-inch figures, pad (USB connected), and power discs from the first Disney Infinity game (first version set pieces are only items that don’t carry over to 2.0). Figures also include a special web code card for even more gameplay. Now the most important detail – price (MSRP):
- $74.99 Disney Infinity: Marvel Super Heroes Starter Pack (pad, 2.0 game software, two discs, plus three figures (Thor, Black Widow, and Iron Man))
- $34.99 Play-Set Adventures (Spider-Man & Guardians of the Galaxy)
- $13.99 Single Figures
- $4.99 power disc packs
The play sets feature original storylines written with the help of award-winning Marvel comic writer Brian Michael Bendis. Game discs deliver new structured gameplay modes to the Toy Box where players can engage in classic dungeon crawler and tower defense gameplay using any character from across the Disney Infinity universe. Creativity can also run wild with endless creation options plus considerable sharing and storage (access a maximum of 100,000 toy boxes and keep a maximum of 300 toy boxes in private cloud storage).
Look for more Disney Infinity Super Hero items (Loki, Green Goblin, Ronin) and others (Jasmine and a special figure) soon plus Merida, Aladdin, Tinkerbell, Stitch, Maleficent, and Donald Duck figures plus Hiro and Brymax figures from the upcoming Big Hero 6 on November 4.
