The Genius DVR-FHD568 is the new dash cam powerhouse on the market today. This high-def vehicle recorder can record up to 1080p resolution with a 140-degree lens and crisp 2.4” LCD screen on the back. This dash cam also has a built-in G sensor, which detects a crash and will protect that specific video file. The Genius DVR-FHD568 retails for $169.99.
The Genius DVR-FHD568 is one of the nicer dash cams that I’ve had the pleasure of testing and reviewing. The build quality is fantastic, it feels very solid and the windshield mount feels the same way. The video quality is crystal clear, as you’ll see in the video sample below. This dash cam can record in either 1080p at 30 frames per second OR 720p at 60 or 30 frames per second. The other nice thing about this camera is the crisp 2.4” LCD screen, which allows you to make sure that you’re recording the exact scene you want recorded. This dash cam also has a built-in 420mAh lithium-ion battery so that you don’t always need to have the USB cable plugged in.
The Genius DVR-FHD568 has auto on/off technology that turns the camera on and starts recording as soon as the car is turned on or off. This is helpful so that you don’t have to remember to turn the camera on and off all the time. This dash cam also allows you to take photos as well, in case you need to take a photo of a license plate or a suspicious character.
The FHD568 accepts microSD cards of up to 32GB, allowing you to keep all of your video files on one small memory card. The video files will continuously overwrite the older files, making sure that you never have to manually erase files to make room. The only exception to that is when the G-Sensor detects an accident, it will mark the current video file as an “emergency file,” so that it cannot be overwritten.
The front of the FHD568 houses the 140-degree wide-angle lens as well as the speaker grill and Genius branding. The rear of the camera houses the 2.4” LCD screen as well as the 6 menu buttons that allow you to select different functions, change the resolution, take photos, etc. One side of the camera houses the power button while the other side has the HDMI-out port and microphone hole. The underside of the camera houses the microSD card slot while the top of the camera has the threaded opening for the windshield mount.

Overall, I think the Genius DVR-FHD568 is a fantastic dash cam option. With its 1080p capability, it’s G-Sensor, 2.4” LCD screen, and overall build quality, and I think it’s a must-have for anyone looking for a dash cam on a budget.
