Infinit was originally an application for your Macbook that allows you to send an unlimited amount of file transfers for free has now launched for Android and iOS devices!

The company claims that their method is faster than any current file-transfer solution as well which is interesting. Infinit is an “Always-on” type of Airdrop where you can just type in a contact’s name and send them a file, regardless if their computer or phone is on. I’ve tested the app myself versus Dropbox and I can vouch that it is significantly faster, at least on the iPhone. Having only the 256GB model of the MacBook Air, this is great for folks that worry about their cloud storage or even their computers storage filling up too fast. This comes with only one “con”, and that’s both people have to have the app in order to use Infinit, which can deter people who can justifiably say “why not just stick to Airdrop?”

Infinit says it uses direct encryption for files transferred between a sender’s device and a recipient’s device, “ensuring both security and privacy such that no third-party can ever interact with or access the exchanged data”, including Infinit itself.

This is a great app for people with Macs, however many people still are using Windows, and there’s no way to use Infinit for it yet, and there has been no talks of development either.
