I’m absolutely addicted to iPhone Cases for my phone. Like everyone else I start with that same boring silicone case the first week that the phone comes out, and over the next few months, I end up spending a small fortune buying every case I like.
So when Mayan Cases sent me over one of their Mayan Cases for the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus, I was excited when I received the package. It’s pretty simple boxing, focusing specifically on the vibrant colors of the case itself which to me is great. They don’t only sell cases either, they sell laptop bags, and included a few threaded bracelets that my Goddaughter managed to take from me upon arrival.
The cases themselves are all handmade from threaded fabrics on top of a very protective rubber material that will house your phone. I will be the first to say that the case itself did manage to protect from a drop from my desk onto a marble floor without issue so that was certainly a lifesaver, something that I wouldn’t be so sure would’ve happened with that silicone case from Verizon.
The front of your iPhone will be well protected as the rubber extends outward a bit to protect from the average fall. All of the buttons are protected including the power button. One thing I appreciate is the logo being subtle at the back of the case. There is nothing worse than having a case with straight logo patchwork all over it. But the big bonus to some will be that you’ll easily be able to identify your phone as there is a cutout on the back to let everyone know that yes, you do indeed have an iPhone, and are letting the world know it.
The camera cutout is nice and slim, and does not block the camera flash which I do appreciate.
In your hand the case will obviously feel a bit wider than it would going caseless, but weight wise it’s virtually unnoticable. This is the same with the Samsung Galaxy 6 version that I received.
Overall, Mayan Cases are very nice and the threaded fabric on the back is a nice touch. It will be interesting to see how the material on the back will hold up over time, but honestly it does feel very well made and I highly doubt there will be an issue in the long run.
If you’re interested in getting one of these Mayan Cases, they are available for the iPhone 5, 6, and 6 Plus models. You can find out more by visiting MayanCase.com.
