The Nomad Line 4.9′ Lightning-to-USB Type A Charging Cable: An Ultra Rugged Charge

Are you still trifling with those cheap white cables that came with your iPad or iPhone? If they haven’t already begun to fray, it’s just a matter of time. Maybe you ought to upgrade to something that’s virtually indestructible — like the Nomad Line Ultra Rugged Lightning Cable for iPhone.

With a cable that’s been wrapped in 1000 denier ballistic nylon and capped with PVC nylon tips, the cable feels strong, and due to the nylon coating it is tangle-free.

A handy Velcro tie is attached to the cable, so you can keep it neat when it’s in your bag or you’re at your desk — assuming you don’t need the extra length its almost 5 feet provides.

Nomad has “designed a rigorous multi-angle 10,000 flex test ensuring this cable will outlast other cables.

I like Nomad products, and I have bought plenty of them, but even so — this cable is more expensive than similarly ruggedized cables I’ve recently reviewed. Granted, it’s sized and priced smack in the middle of Apple’s replacement 1 meter ($25) cable or their 2 meter long ($35) cable, so if you are in the market for a cable and you are considering Apple’s, the price will seem in line.

The Nomad Line 4.9′ Lightning-to-USB Type A Charging Cable retails for $29.99, and it is available from Best Buy. They come with a 5-year guarantee.

What Needs Improvement: More expensive than other ruggedized Lightning cables I’ve recently reviewed
