Cleaning robots seem to keep getting better doing more and more jobs. Smart home robotics company ECOVACS unveiled its ultra-premium family of robot vacuums at CES; the DEEBOT X1 series boasts the most automated and advanced cleaning robots to date.
The Jacob Jensen Design Studio designed the DEEBOT X1 series; it takes inspiration from the design elements of a sports car, giving the robot vac a modern, minimalist, and timeless design.
ECOVACS DEEBOT X1 OMNI
The DEEBOT X1 OMNI has the only dual spinning mops on the market; utilizing OZMO Turbo 2.0 and spinning at 180 RPM with downward directed force, they deliver intense scrubbing action even on uneven surfaces. The robot vac also has a whopping 5,000 Pa of suction power, and it is equipped with a three-layer filter system.
The DEEBOT X1 OMNI also introduces next-level robot intelligence and interaction with YIKO (pronounced “E-CO”). YIKO allows you to control your DEEBOT X1 OMNI hands-free by speaking directly to the robot/YIKO with natural language. You can ask the DEEBOT X1 OMNI to start, stop, change settings, and clean specific areas – without using the app or having to go through a 3rd-party smart speaker system.
The DEEBOT X1 OMNI uses auto-avoidance AIVI 3D, which combines two leading obstacle avoidance technologies to clean around real-world clutter
with precision. The AIVI 3.0 camera sees and identifies common household objects, and the TrueDetect 2.0 laser depth scanning creates a precise 3D scan of the space ahead.
The intelligent DEEBOT X1 OMNI Station rounds out the system. It automatically auto-empties dirt, dust, and debris from the robot vac. The OMNI Station auto washes and dries the mop with a motion that simulates hand washing and automatically refills the water tank with clean water.
The OMNI Station has separate 4-liter clean and dirty water tanks and space for 2.5L disposable dust bags to remove 99.9% of particles.
The ECOVACS DEEBOT X1 OMNI will be available in March for $1,549.
The DEEBOT X1 TURBO and DEEBOT X1 PLUS have also been introduced in the product line. They feature AIVI 3D, 5000 Pa suction power, high battery capacity, and YIKO.
The X1 TURBO has the OZMO Turbo 2.0 system. This robot emphasizes mopping, and it comes with an Auto-Clean Station; however, it doesn’t include a robot vac Auto-Empty Station, so you will periodically need to empty the dust-bin manually.
The DEEBOT X1 TURBO will sell for $1349.
The DEEBOT X1 PLUS is perfect for those who mainly want a superior vacuuming experience with occasional mopping. It removes dirt and debris and has a robot vac Auto-Empty Station. It also uses the OZMO Turbo 2.0 system, and it has an air-freshener module, but it does not include the mop-function Auto-Cleaning Station.
The DEEBOT X1 PLUS will be available for $1,149.
You can keep an eye out for the new ECOVACS DEEBOT X1 series on the EVOVACS site and Amazon.
These seem like very nice improvements on robot vacuums. I’d guess that it will be at least a few years before anyone tries the much harder problem of making robots that can clean things other than floors.
