The robot vacuum space is full of many options with many features. These devices make the busy lives we live today more convenient, cutting down cleaning times. ECOVACS DEEBOT X1 OMNI is one of the most advanced all-around cleaning systems available; vacuuming and mopping have never been this easy!
The ECOVACS DEEBOT X1 OMNI offers the ultimate hands-free cleaning experience. Not only does the bot clean and mop your floors, but it also requires minimal maintenance.
The robot vac’s 4-stage deep cleaning system features dual side brushes and a floating main brush combined with 5000Pa suction power and the OZMO Turbo 2.0 rotating mop system. It will sweep, suction, and strong mop for a fantastic finish on floors.
The package comes with everything you need to get set up and going. It includes the robot, side brushes that color match to their correct side to avoid mixup, two cleaning cloths, and a cleaning tool; there is also an extra vacuum bag for dirt collection.
I was really impressed with how the cleaning cloths and cleaning tools are contained in the main compartment. The entire package looks elegant since it is entirely self-contained. The ECOVACS website also offers extra accessories and replacements.
The ECOVACS DEEBOT X1 robot vac measures 14″ around and stands about 4″ tall. It is large enough to make quick work of the main part of our house.
The OMNI Station is quite large, measuring 16.9″ deep by 17.6″ wide and standing 22.8″. While the dock is larger than most vacuums I have seen, it looks nice in the house and blends in well with the furniture.
The OMNI Station charges the cleaning bot and cleans it after use; it includes a clean water tank, a dirty water tank, and a dust chamber. Opening the lid allows access to the water tanks and cleaning accessories, and the hidden front drawer contains the 3-liter dust bag.
The inside of the lid also includes start-up instructions which are great since I seem always to lose the manual!
The companion app connects easily with the cleaning system and basically can run the entire device. I recommend updating the firmware before the first use to ensure the OMNI runs at total capacity. The app is self-explanatory and will allow users to control the bot in several ways and set up schedules.
The ECOVACS DEEBOT X1 OMNI utilizes TrueDetect 3D 2.0 camera technology to avoid obstacles and AIVI for object recognition and strategic cleaning.
We had the bot map the house for the first use and had doors we did not want entering closed. TrueMapping 2.0 was the fastest and most accurate mapping of the house that any of the robot vacuums I’ve tried has ever completed.
As the robot cleans, the app will follow it live and show the paths it has crossed. You can also tap Map Management and really customize what the cleaning areas are.
The ECOVACS DEEBOT X1 OMNI also works with YIKO, a proprietary voice assistant. The voice assistant works exceptionally well, and since it is designed for the robot, it never seems to have mistakes. I prefer this instead of using Siri or Google Assistant since it is device-specific.
It is really convenient to have voice control and not have to open the app or remember what to say to Alexa or Google Assistant to get it to start cleaning.
The ECOVACS DEEBOT X1 OMNI also sports a camera that allows users to log in and watch the bot work, control where it goes, and see what is happening in their house.
Since we have touched on some of the significant features of this cleaning system, the question begs, how does it clean?
First off, the ECOVACS DEEBOT X1 OMNI is quieter than others I have used, but it is definitely cleaning. We have a combination of wood and tile floors on our map, and the DEEBOT X1 does a fantastic job keeping it clean.
There is something to be said for walking through a house with a constantly clean floor. It just feels good. We have a lot of traffic in our house, and no problems have been discovered keeping it clean.
The mopping feature is something new for me. The pads on the bottom spin, and the floor gets a proper scrubbing. My son had spilled some stuff on the floor as we began to test the ECOVACS DEEBOT X1 OMNI; it took two passes, but it cleaned the floor well.
The robot will vacuum and mop simultaneously, making for easy and efficient cleaning. The 5000pa sucking power is perfect for dirt and dust, and the wet scrubbing really shines the floor up. Since we do not have any carpet on the floors where the robot works, we plan to keep it in mop and vacuum mode.
When the water gets dirty during the mopping or the ECOVACS DEEBOT X1 dustbin fills, it will return to the OMNI station to empty the vacuum and change the water. It is pretty incredible how it works.
When the cleaning is finished, the mop pads will spin to be cleaned; the water will refresh again, and heat will dry the bottom of the ECOVACS DEEBOT X1 OMNI. There is enough water in the reservoir to last at least a week for me.
Settings on the app control the amount of water used, so we have it on low for our wood floors.
The ECOVACS DEEBOT X1 OMNI is a feature-laden cleaning system that really does feel like it is from the future. It has impressive mapping and detection capabilities and even a camera to watch where it is working. The onboard voice activation is intuitive and works every time I use it.
Last night, my dog drug some leaves into the kitchen, and I simply said, “OK, Yiko,” “Clean the kitchen.” The robot vac literally traveled directly to the kitchen, cleaned up the mess, returned to the station, and emptied the vacuum bag!
The mopping feature is a game-changer in my mind; I was really not expecting much from a robot vac with a mopping function, but this thing really does do a great job of cleaning and scrubbing the floor, all the while emptying the water and cleaning and drying itself when it is done.
Using the OMNI Station almost feels like cheating!
If you are in the market for a high-quality floor cleaning solution, I cannot recommend the ECOVACS DEEBOT X1 OMNI enough! It’s expensive, but it’s definitely a case of getting what you pay for.
The ECOVACS DEEBOT X1 OMNI retails for $1,399; it is available directly from the manufacturer and other retailers, including Amazon.

What Needs Improvement: It’s not inexpensive, but it has given me no trouble at all
Steep price, but wow, this sounds like an amazing machine. Nice review!
informative and detailed review
This certainly is pricey, but it does so much! Since the voice recognition probably has a much more limited vocabulary than something like Alexa or Siri, does it do the voice recognition all locally, instead of in the cloud?
I like that they have included the instructions in the charging station, but the price is pretty high.
Looks like an amazing robotic vacuum. Great detailed review!
wow nice review look like a good one to own for sure thanks for the info on it
The evolution of these robot vacs continues – this sems to address some of the issues with earlier/cheaper versions, but the cost probably means admiring from afar.
