The Lowdown
The EcoFlow Delta 2 Portable Power Station is an amazing addition to the brand’s ever-growing ecosystem of power options. The LiFePO4 battery and the X-Stream charging technology make this a cutting-edge product, but on top of that, the unit is small and light, and it packs a punch. 1800W of output opens up many opportunities — from running kitchen appliances during a power outage to running power tools where portable power is needed. The charging speed of the Delta 2 is crazy fast, and the fact that the sun can charge it more quickly than the competition makes it a must-have. The Delta 2 is so portable that I have the habit of just tossing it in the back of my jeep when I am out and about, so I’ll always have a power source.
Overall
Pros
- Compact and light smart battery
- Plenty of power ports
- Expandable up to 3kWh
- Recharges on AC and Solar super fast — 80% in only 50 minutes!
Cons
- A wishlist item would be to have two ports on the side instead of just one
The EcoFlow Delta Series is no stranger to Gear Diary, as I love the Delta Max with an extra battery. The recent release of the Delta 2 is a huge step forward in the company’s smart battery lineup by using LiFePO4 technology. With faster charging and a huge AC output, the EcoFlow Delta 2 Portable Power Station is perfect for emergency use or portable power.
The EcoFlow Delta 2 is the new smart battery in the ever-growing ecosystem of power products. The unit measures in at 15.7 x 8.3 x 11 in / 400 x 211 x 281 mm and only weighs 27 lbs. This a super small and light compared to the Delta Max I reviewed.
My wife’s first comment on the battery was, “I love it! It is so cute!” All joking aside, with the Delta 2, EcoFlow has made a nice, compact piece of hardware. The 1024 Wh capacity is huge for such a small battery, but it is also expandable to 2kWh with the Delta 2 Extra Battery and a whopping 3kWh with a Delta Max Extra Battery; this is perfect for extended power outages, camping trips, or for use in an RV.
The EcoFlow Delta 2 Portable Power Station package includes the smart battery, AC charging cable, car charging cable, and DC5521 to DC5525 cable. There is no included solar cable, but for the price, it is easy to order one or use a cable from another product.
The front of the battery includes the power button, status screen, and all the USB outlets. Two USB-C 100W max ports, two USB-A 12W max ports, and two USB-A Fast Charge 18W ports are provided.; this should offer plenty of ports to keep all of your devices charged. Each bank of ports also has a button to turn them on and off.
The display is the same as many of the EcoFlow products; these displays are crisp and clear and provide all the information you need to manage the battery. Input and output wattage is displayed on the right side, along with the battery percent in the middle.
The left side displays the number of hours remaining. Remember, this is an estimate according to the current load, and it will change as power in and out changes, but it is still a great feature if the power is out because it will let you know approximately how long your refrigerator will be powered.
The backside of the EcoFlow Delta 2 houses the AC plugs, charging ports, car plug output, and two DC 5521 ports. I am excited that EcoFlow still includes six AC outlets despite the device’s small footprint. The most impressive stat for these ports is the 1800W output (surge 2700W). This battery will run more of your appliances than ever before; this is a huge amount of power in a small box!
The side of the Delta 2 includes an EcoFlow accessory port that allows for an extra battery or even the Smart Generator to be connected. Expanding this battery to 3kWh using the Delta Max extra battery is a huge feature. While having two ports available like the Delta Max includes would be nice, it might be overkill on a small form battery like the Delta 2.
All of the features we have discussed are fantastic, but what makes the EcoFlow Delta 2 Portable Power Station a must-have is the LiFePO4 battery and new charging technology. We already know you can expand the battery up to 3kWh, which can power 90% of appliances with the 1800W output, but this battery charges fast.
How fast?
You can charge the battery to 80% in only 50 minutes, which is a very big deal; to understand why, I’d like you to imagine being in an emergency with only limited time or resources to charge the battery. This new X-Stream technology will charge the Delta 2 7 times faster than the competition. Using solar, the Delta 2 charges as fast as 3-6 hours using one 400W or two 200W portable solar panels.
The EcoFlow mobile app is a great way to maintain and monitor your products, and it has improved since I began using it. The EcoFlow Delta 2 Portable Power Station automatically appears to be added when you open the app and is used almost immediately. The app is especially useful when using multiple products to monitor and manage capacities and usage.

I highly recommend getting into the EcoFlow ecosystem, and the EcoFlow Delta 2 Portable Power Station is the perfect product to start with.
The EcoFlow Delta 2 Portable Power Station retails for $999; it is available directly from the manufacturer and other retailers, including Amazon.
