In a normal round, the Judge will draw another black-bordered card from their hand to start the game, meaning there are now two cards of a three-panel comic strip on the table.

Next, every non-Judge player will choose a card to complete the panel, and they’ll place it face down. The Judge will flip each card over, read the entire comic aloud, and then pick the card they like best to finish the comic strip.

The winning card will go back, face-up, to the player, and the player to the left of the Judge will now assume the mantle.

If the Judge selects a red card, each non-judge player will draw two cards, place them face-down, and wait for the Judge to flip them over, using the Judges red card as the final panel. Again, the Judge will flip the cards over, read the completed comic aloud, and then select a winner.

Everyone keeps drawing until they have seven cards in their hand, and the game goes on until a player only has three left in their hand.

Bob Moog’s Dad Jokes Matching Card Game

What Dad doesn’t love a good Dad Joke? Well, maybe you can give him some new material and make him laugh with the $14.78 Bob Moog’s Dad Jokes Matching Card Game!

What’s this all about? Well, Bob Moog has been collecting and creating “Dad” jokes since becoming a Dad in 1990; this card-matching game contains more than 30 years of his worst jokes!

Playing is easy; the goal of the game is to match the most jokes to their punch lines by the end of the game. Laughter and plenty of groaning will erupt as two to five players, ages 8 and up, compete to match the most jokes to their punch lines by the end of the game.

Inside the box, there are 54 joke cards and 54 punchline cards; there are even two blank cards, so if Dad comes up with his own joke and punchline that’s not already included, it is easy enough to do.

To play, one person starts as the dealer and deals five cards to each player (or ten cards if only two people are playing). The rest of the cards are placed face-down in front of the players, and that becomes the draw deck, with the first card turned over next to it to create a discard pile.

The player to the dealer’s left goes first by reading any of their “Completed Jokes” in their hand, and then they set the card in front so that other players can see it. If that player doesn’t have any completed jokes in their hand, the player can ask any of the other players for a Joke or a Punchline card.

If the matching card to the Joke or Punchline card is found in that player’s hand, then the player gets the Joke or Punchline card and another turn, playing until they can’t complete a joke.

Once the player can no longer complete a joke, the player can either draw from the draw deck or the discard pile for as many tries as it takes to have five cards in their hand at all times.

If the punchline for the joke comes from the draw deck or the top of the discard pile, then that player gets another turn; if they wind up making a different completed joke from the deck or discard pile, then the player should hold onto that pair for their next turn.

At the end of each turn, the players must discard a card into the discard pile unless they are out of cards. If the draw deck is depleted, then the discard deck gets shuffled and becomes the new draw pile, with the top card being turned over next to the draw deck to become the discard pile.

Players are supposed to read their completed jokes to the other players before setting the completed joke down in front of them.

The game is over when any player has collected and read eight completed jokes to the other players.

Bob Moog’s Dad Jokes Matching Card Game is good, clean fun, and the game is sure to put a smile on every player’s face.
