The Lowdown
The convenience of wireless charging by just holding the battery up to your phone or other portable device is not to be underestimated. Yes, plugging in is faster and more efficient, but there are many times when not being tethered and avoiding the mess of wires is highly desirable. I really like the UGREEN Magnetic Power Banks; they couldn’t be simpler to use and charge.
Overall
Pros
- Sleek design
- Ease of use
- Wireless/wired charging flexibility
Cons
- I would prefer a true white option, as the beige color seems outdated
UGREEN’s product line includes various accessories for the wireless world, including chargers, hubs, docks, banks, cables, and power stations. In this review, we’ll look at two of their power banks, specifically, the 5,000mAh & 10,000mAh Magnetic Power Banks. These two models are identical except for their thickness and capacity. UGREEN Magnetic Power Banks are available in black (sometimes called space gray) and white (beige).
The UGREEN Magnetic Power Banks are 2.7″ wide by 4.2″ high. The 5,000mAh model is .5″ thick and weighs 5.2oz. The 10,000mAh model is .75″ thick and weighs 8oz. Both units are (flight) travel-friendly.
Both UGREEN Magnetic Power Bank versions employ a “skin-friendly” silicone top surface, which is indeed pleasant to the touch and provides a secure, slip-resistant surface to which mobile devices can match up. The tops of both units feature a circle and vertical line, indicating their use with the Apple-designed MagSafe system.
Starting with the Apple iPhone 12 series, iPhones have enabled magnetic fast wireless charging through MagSafe technology. The round shape ensures that your phone snaps into place, and the vertical line helps align it with the device.
This makes the UGREEN Magnetic Power Banks compatible with all iPhone models from the 12 to the present, as well as the iPad and the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra.
To attach the power bank, you simply hold the top side of the bank to the back of your phone, and the strong magnet pulls it into place and securely holds it there. The magnetic charging works with all MagSafe-compatible cases. Cases without this feature will not work properly, if at all.
Only the bottom edges of the power banks have indicators or controls. In the center of the bottom edge is the USB-C port, which is used both for charging the power bank and for charging devices through the provided USB-C cable.
On the left of the port is an LED display of five dots. The first dot, which is light blue, indicates use, and the next four dots, which are white, show the remaining charge level. On the port’s right side is the only button: a single click will show the battery’s current charge level, and a double click will turn off the display.
You’ll press and hold the button for three seconds to activate or deactivate trickle charging mode.
According to the UGREEN website:
Trickle charge mode does not interfere with normal charging of your phone via wired or wireless. Turning this mode on disables the minimum current limit, allowing small-current devices such as headphones or watches to charge normally.
This mode is especially suitable for charging AirPods, which can be done when the UGREEN Magnetic Power Bank is not magnetically attached to another device.
Both the 5,000mAh and 10,000mAh UGREEN Magnetic Power Bank support charging two devices simultaneously, one wirelessly and the other wired with the USB-C cable. Both units can also charge devices wirelessly while being charged themselves.
The power banks include protection from issues with overvoltage, overcurrent, overload, and overheating.

They are solid and pleasant to hold. My only complaint is the off-white color, which seems out of date to me. There once was a time when all computers and peripherals were this color, and everyone has moved on stylistically. I recommend the space gray version that UGREEN calls “Black” and that they produce the alternate option in true white.
Both versions come with a 30-day risk-free trial and a two-year product warranty.
The 5,000mAh UGREEN Magnetic Power Bank sells for $29.99 and is available directly from the manufacturer and other retailers, including Amazon.
The 10,000mAh UGREEN Magnetic Power Bank sells for $42.99 and is available directly from the manufacturer and other retailers, including Amazon.
