In June, I was blessed with a trip to ThermoWorks headquarters, where I learned a lot, had some excellent food, hung out with some great people, and got a sneak peek at their new RFX wireless network technology. The ThermoWorks RFX is the first meat thermometer to use ThermoWorks’ new patent-pending industrial radio frequency technology. Say goodbye to unreliable Bluetooth signals!
RFX boasts patent-pending industrial radio frequency technology that travels through walls, ovens, and smokers, bringing a more reliable and stronger connection throughout your cook. This signal stays connected for up to 2,132 ft line-of-sight, making it usable almost anywhere.
The ThermoWorks RFX Gateway can connect to WiFi, allowing remote monitoring from anywhere, including real-time updates, high-low alerts, and detailed cooking graphs.
Four strategically placed sensors guarantee the center of any cut is monitored, and the probes are tough. They are submersible, waterproof, and can even survive deep frying withstanding up to 1,000° F. These features come with up to 52 hours of power after a 10-minute charge!
The ThermoWorks RFX retails for $159 and includes the RFX MEAT probe, the RFX MEAT Charging Block, the RFX GATEWAY receiver, the Pro-Series Air Probe, probe rings, and a 5V Charger for the RFX GATEWAY. Up to 50 probes can be added to the RFX Gateway, and those are available for $89 each.
