Election day is coming at us like a freight train; like it, hate it, dread it, love it, November 5th is looming. LG helpfully dropped a sale on some of its products to ensure you can maximize the LG News Hub channel. We also have a few tips and election resources to help you get through the next week!
LG News Hub
If you use an LG smart device, you’ll be pleased to learn the new LG News Hub has been added to the channel options. If you’ve cut the cord or your cable box is collecting dust, this is a FAST (free ad-supported TV) channel that will pick up local and national news from ABC News Live, CNN Headlines, NBC News NOW, Scripps News, and other sources.
Local news will cover Austin, Texas; Washington, DC; Salt Lake City, Utah; Cincinnati, Ohio; Las Vegas, Nevada; Baltimore, Maryland; and Seattle, Washington.
If you’re wondering who asked for yet another way to aggregate the news, LG says they’ve tracked a 66% increase in unique devices accessing news feeds from LG devices. There is no word on whether other television manufacturers have seen similar spikes or if LG users are particularly engaged.
Maybe you’re intrigued by this new way to watch the news, but alas, you don’t have an LG device. There are plenty of choices for you!
65″ LG OLEDB4 4K Smart TV
For example, if you prefer to enjoy the existential dread of the 24-hour news cycle in 4K OLED, the 65″ LG OLEDB4 4K Smart TV is now just $1,299, with $900 knocked off the list price.
65″ QNED 4K LED QNED85T
Too rich for your blood? The 65″ QNED 4k LED QNED85T is also on sale for $899.99, $399 less than the list price.
LG MyView Smart Monitor
And if you’re more of a “watch TV from my computer” type, the 32″ LG MyView Smart Monitor will let you frantically browse Reddit, CNN, the Washington Post, and Facebook while also streaming the news. It costs $449.99, which is $150.00 off its usual price of $599.99.
There’s also a speaker, in case you need Steve Kornacki’s analysis in the sharpest possible audio quality (we already know you’ll have an excellent view of his iconic khakis with an LG TV). The LG XBOOM 360 Portable Wireless Speaker will sound amazing while looking like a work of art, all for $199.99. You can even bring it to a friend’s house and distract them from the polls closing with its excellent style and sound.
LG CineBeam Q 4K UHD Smart Portable Laser Projector
Maybe you’d prefer to project the election results to pretend you live in a movie instead of reality. In that case, the LG CineBeam Q 4K UHD Smart Portable Laser Projector will project a 4K resolution and a 120″ screen. It can also pair with Apple Airplay 2 or Screen Share on Android. It’s on sale for $999 (normally $1,299), and they’ll throw in a free LG XBOOM 360 ($199.99 value) with purchase! If you’re looking for movie suggestions afterward, we recommend The Manchurian Candidate.
LG TONEFree T80 Dolby Atmos
Finally, if your family has gone on a news strike, you can discreetly keep up with the news with wireless earbuds. We suggest the LG TONEFree T80 Dolby Atmos earbuds, which have adaptive ANC and are IPX4 resistant. So, you’re good if you decide to go full 10th Doctor and stand sadly in the rain while they call the election. Silently receiving the news while hiding from the world is on sale for $149.99, saving $50.
No matter what, the LG News Hub will help you keep your eyes and ears on everything happening on election night.
If you’ve cast your ballot during early voting, thank you! If not, the official Election Assistance Commission website has information on where to find your polling place, volunteering opportunities, and more.
You have the right to vote without being intimidated or harassed; check out the ACLU’s voting rights explainer. If you’re unsure where to vote, you can find your polling place for day-of and early voting at Vote.org. If you aren’t sure what ID you need to show, you can learn more about it here.
Finally, before heading to the polling place, you can check your voter status here if you’re unsure if you’re properly registered to vote in this election.
Remember that voting is one of the most powerful ways we, as citizens, can have a say in our government and influence the future of our communities and country. Each vote contributes to decisions that shape everyone’s policies, rights, and opportunities. By voting, you’re exercising a right and fulfilling a civic duty that ensures representation and accountability. Every election counts and each voice makes a difference; when we vote, we help create a government that reflects the values and needs of the people.
But maybe you’re reading all this and thinking, “But what if I can’t handle the next eight days until the election?” Don’t worry; Uber Eats delivers alcohol now! Depending on your state, you might also be able to get your local dispensary to deliver so you can stay safely in your cocoon and away from the existential dread that comes from knowing that reality is a remote control click away.
We want you to stay safe, take care of yourselves, and remember that voting is a fundamental right!
