ShiftCam knows photography and videography; they each have unique benefits and challenges when you’re on the go. Their products are built around improving the mobile creation experience, and they’ve got two new accessories to up your creator game: the ShiftCam PLANK and the ShiftCam SnapStudioLight!
ShiftCam PLANCK
First, the world’s smallest portable SSD, the new ShiftCam PLANCK, is available in 1TB and 2TB sizes. They’re not kidding about it being for on the go, as it’s designed to be drop-proof, IP65 water-resistant, and a featherweight 10 grams (according to Google, that’s the weight of a single large raisin)!
The ShiftCam PLANCK can also handle read and write speeds of 1050 MB/s, which translates to 200GB in 3 minutes! There’s no reason not to back up on the road when you can do it that quickly.
It can also record directly from USB-C devices like iPhone 15 Pro (and newer) or Android smartphones, so you can easily record in 4K without damaging your internal storage.
The ShiftCam PLANCK will be launched on Kickstarter in February, with the goal of making it widely available by spring. Kickstarter pricing will be $125/1TB, $199/2TB, but if you wait until it is commercially available, the pricing is expected to be $189/1TB and $299/2TB.
ShiftCam SnapStudioLight
ShiftCam has an ecosystem built up for creators with tits SnapSeries accessories, mounts, and lights, and they’re making sure your TikToks on-the-go look amazing with the new ShiftCam SnapStudio Light.
We all learned the importance of ring lights for better Zoom calls during the pandemic, and the need for good light doesn’t change when you’re out and about.
The SnapStudio Light is MagSafe compatible, so you can easily pop your phone right in the center, and the controls allow you to adjust the temperature and brightness (up to 600 lumens of output)! All this in a package that’s 38% smaller than regular ring lights.
The ShiftCam SnapStudio Light is compatible with the rest of the SnapSeries devices, so you can easily build a good-looking studio on a fraction of the budget! It will retail for $89.99, and you can buy it as a standalone or make it part of a Snap bundle on ShiftCam’s site.
2TB and the ability to record directly to the device is a real find for those who shoot a lot of video (like me).
Very interesting! I need to look into this.
So they’re calling the Planck an SSD instead of a flash drive because of its speed?
