The Lowdown
The highest compliment I can give the Nomad Tracking Card Pro is that I often forget it’s there until I need it. It doesn’t interfere with my other cards, doesn’t add noticeable thickness, and doesn’t prevent me from carrying the key cards I’ve pared down to the ones I carry daily. It’s just one more card in my wallet.

I rarely lose things, but I constantly misplace them. For someone like me, AirTags are a lifesaver. The only problems are the AirTag’s shape, which makes it great for keys but lousy for something like a wallet, its obvious design that thieves can readily find and discard, and the coin batteries that need to be replaced more frequently than I would like. That’s why I was a fan of the Nomad Tracking Card and an even bigger fan of the new Nomad Tracking Card Pro. It’s thin, it’s not obvious, and it’s rechargeable.

If there’s one thing I’ve learned after years of moving toward a minimalist wallet, it’s this: each item I carry must justify its existence. Space is precious with a minimalist setup, and the thickness of each item impacts what other items I can carry. That was my issue using AirTags with my wallet. They required a special attachment accessory and turned my otherwise thin EDC wallet into something thick and bulky. But at least AirTags gave me a way to locate it when I’ve misplaced it and am trying to run out the door.

Nomad Tracking Card Pro is 1/3 the thickness of an AirTag
That’s why I was an immediate fan of the original Nomad Tracking Card that was released in 2024. It offered all the benefits of an AirTag in something as thin as a credit card and easily rechargeable using a Qi wireless charger.

The company has now released the Nomad Tracking Card Pro. It’s an update to their original Tracking Card and, on paper, it promises a lot: Apple Find My integration, wireless charging, extended battery life, and a form factor slim enough to live alongside credit cards without turning your wallet into a brick. After using it daily, I can say this: as great as the original Tracking Card was, the new Pro offering improves on it significantly.
Design and Build: Nomad Doing What Nomad Does Best
Nomad has a very specific design language, and the Tracking Card Pro fits neatly into it. It’s understated, minimal, and feels intentional rather than flashy. The card itself is credit card-sized and only slightly thicker than Nomad’s first-generation Tracking Card. The added thickness translates into far better battery life, so I am happy to make the trade-off.

Slipped into my wallet, the Nomad Tracking Card Pro doesn’t distort the shape or add noticeable bulk, and it never became uncomfortable. The finish is refined and durable, and while it’s not something you’ll look at often, it gives off the same premium, restrained vibe I’ve come to expect from Nomad products.
Better still, while the original TrackingCard looked like a tracker card, the Nomad Tracking Card Pro looks more like an Apple Credit Card thanks to its refined finish and the fake-NFC chip built into its surface.

It just looks like a Nomad Credit Card
Those design choices mean a thief is unlikely to notice the tracking capabilities unless they look closely at the back of the card.
Set up and Find My Integration: Simple, Fast, Invisible

Setting up the Nomad Tracking Card Pro is exactly how it should be. If you’ve ever used an AirTag, you know everything necessary to get up and going. You simply open Apple’s Find My app, put the card into pairing mode, add the Nomad Tracking Card Pro, and slip it into your wallet, backpack, or suitcase. It is that simple. There’s no third-party app to install, no account to create, and no learning curve.
Just charge the card, add it to your account, and sit back and enjoy peace of mind.
Once paired, the Nomad Tracking Card Pro behaves exactly like any other Find My device. I can see its last known location on a map, play a sound to help locate it nearby, and rely on Apple’s vast Find My network if my wallet ever goes missing — which, as previously noted, happens quite frequently. That quiet, background reliability is the entire point of the Find My system, and this card works exactly as advertised.
Wireless Charging and Battery Life: A Meaningful Upgrade

Ease of charging and battery life are where the Nomad Tracking Card Pro truly distinguishes itself. I reviewed and used Nomad’s original Tracking Card when it first launched. While I liked it, it looked like a tech gadget rather than a refined credit card, and its battery life, while good, was not great. The Tracking Card Pro feels like the version Nomad was aiming for all along.
Charging the card is as simple as using the same Qi wireless charger I use for my phone. I drop it on the charger and, a few hours later, it is good to go for up to 16 months before needing to be recharged. There’s no need for proprietary cables (or any cables for that matter) and no fuss. Just the card and a wireless charger are all you need.

The long battery life and refined design mean the Nomad Tracking Card Pro fades into the background and just works.
Daily Use: Exactly What You Want from a Wallet Tracker
The highest compliment I can give the Nomad Tracking Card Pro is that I often forget it’s there until I need it. It doesn’t interfere with my other cards, doesn’t add noticeable thickness, and doesn’t prevent me from carrying the key cards I’ve pared down to the ones I carry daily. It’s just one more card in my wallet.
And yet, every time I head out the door, there’s a quiet reassurance knowing that if my wallet ever goes missing, I have a reliable way to track it down. For something that takes up almost no space, that peace of mind is significant.
I was a fan of the original Nomad Tracker Card, but I’m an even bigger fan of the Tracker Card Pro. As usual, Nomad released an excellent product initially and then, after some key refinements, made it even better. This isn’t the tracker for keys or a pet’s collar, but for something like a wallet or backpack; it is perfect.
If you’re already invested in Apple’s Find My ecosystem and want a tracker that feels like a natural extension of your everyday carry rather than a compromise, this is an easy recommendation. For those who used the original Tracking Card, the Pro is a clear and worthwhile upgrade.
The Nomad Tracking Card Pro is one of those accessories that quietly earns its place in your EDC, and once it’s there, you won’t want to be without this $39 everyday essential.
The Nomad Tracking Card Pro retails for $39; it is available directly from the manufacturer.
