LawnMaster 48V Max 3-in-1 Brushless 19” Cordless Lawn Mower Review: Quiet, Lightweight, and Ready to Cut the Cord

The Lowdown

The LawnMaster 48V Max 3-in-1 Brushless 19” Cordless Lawn Mower is perfect for the tech-savvy homeowner who wants a great-looking yard without the gas station run, oil changes, fumes, or Sunday-morning noise festival. It is light, maneuverable, surprisingly powerful, and easy to store. No, it will not replace a tractor for a 5-acre farm. If you have a large yard, you may want to consider picking up an extra set of batteries. But for small-to-medium lawns and standard suburban lots, this mower is a very solid option.

If you’re like me, you probably have a complicated relationship with your lawn. You want it to look like a PGA golf course, but yanking a pull cord until your shoulder files a formal complaint, only to discover you’re out of gas, makes paving it over and painting it green sound tempting. Enter the LawnMaster 48V Max 3-in-1 Brushless 19” Cordless Lawn Mower. It’s sleek, quiet, and basically the Tesla of turf. I’ve been putting it through its paces, and here’s the dirt, or rather the grass, on why it might be your new favorite backyard gadget.

The heart of this mower is its brushless motor. For those who aren’t tech nerds, “brushless” basically means it is more efficient, runs cooler, and should last longer than a traditional brushed motor. LawnMaster rates the mower at up to 3,400 RPM, which gives it enough muscle to slice through that “I’ve been on vacation for two weeks and now the yard has become a nature preserve” height of grass without breaking a sweat.

As you can see in the photos, our grass was kind of out of control. After a serious drought, we finally had a couple of weeks of rain, and the yard took that as permission to go feral. The mower had no problem motoring through the tall grass and weeds, which honestly surprised me a little. Battery-powered tools have come a long way from the old “technically works, but only if you whisper encouragement to it” days.

The “48V Max” in the name comes from two 24V Max 4.0Ah lithium-ion batteries working together. Because battery labels like to keep lawyers employed, the fine print says the maximum initial battery voltage is 24 volts, while the nominal voltage is 21.6 volts. In normal-person terms, you pop in the two included batteries and get cordless mowing without gas, oil, fumes, or that classic small-engine soundtrack that makes the neighborhood dogs question their life choices.

LawnMaster rates the mower for up to 40 minutes of runtime, though that number is based on no-load battery depletion, so your actual runtime will vary depending on grass height, thickness, and how badly your yard has decided to audition for a jungle documentary. In my experience, 40 minutes was about how long it took to mow each section of our lawn, so we’ve been doing it in shifts. It also includes an automatic break, which isn’t the worst thing in the world when the sun is out and the grass is tall. So far, 40 minutes of mowing has also worked out to be pretty much exactly one full bag of clippings.

Speaking of the bag, the included collection bag holds up to 15 gallons of grass clippings. That is enough capacity to be useful without turning the mower into a wheelbarrow full of clippings. You can bag your clippings, set the mower to mulch, or use side discharge, so you have three ways to handle whatever your lawn throws at you. It’s a triple threat, but for grass instead of Broadway.

My favorite “smart” feature is the iPower Technology Display. Right on the handle, there’s an LED indicator that shows your battery level and cutting mode. It’s like having a dashboard for your lawn mower, which is ridiculous and useful in equal measure. The iPower system also automatically manages power while you mow, helping conserve energy and squeeze as much runtime as possible out of the batteries. Watching the battery bars stay green while you zip around the yard is way more satisfying than checking a dipstick and wondering why everything smells like 1997.

The mower has a 19″ deck with an 18″ cutting width, which covers a good amount of ground per pass without making the mower feel bulky. The cutting height can be adjusted through six positions, ranging from 1.4″ for that “I may have gone too far” close cut up to 3.4″ for a healthier, lusher lawn. The adjustment lever is straightforward: move it toward the back of the mower to raise the cutting height or toward the front to lower it. No complicated mower yoga required.

Maneuverability is also a strong point. The LawnMaster weighs just 33 pounds, which is a breezy number compared to many gas mowers. You can practically lift it with one hand, although I am not officially recommending that unless you enjoy turning product reviews into emergency room paperwork. The mower rolls on 6.7″ front wheels and larger 9.3″ rear wheels, and it was easy to navigate around the lawn, along edges, and through the rougher patches where our yard was clearly trying to reclaim its independence.

Storage is another win. The push handles fold down completely, making the mower compact enough to tuck into a corner of the garage or shed. If you’ve ever tried to store a gas mower, gas can, oil, extension cords, and whatever mystery funnel has been living on the shelf since 2009, you’ll appreciate how clean and simple this setup feels.

The mower comes with the 48V brushless cordless mower, two 24V Max 4.0Ah lithium-ion batteries, a 24V dual-battery charger, a collection bag, and an owner’s manual. The dual-battery charger is especially handy because you can charge both batteries together, avoiding battery roulette and waiting around for one to finish before starting the next.

  1. Nice that it is brushless and relatively low-priced. I agree on the 2nd battery, never hurts to have a backup.

  2. I love the traditional mower look of it, I would love to have one.

  3. Honestly, for the price this looks great. Almost makes me miss having a lawn to mow!

  4. tbh i’d buy this for my mom. she absolutely loves her garden but our backyard looks like a total jungle because she hates the deafening noise of our old gas mower and completely refuses to touch it. the ‘tesla of turf’ lines in the review cracked me up, but honestly, a super quiet mower that folds down flat into a corner of the garage is exactly what she needs. and that little battery screen looks like a video game dashboard lol, she’d love it.
