Flowtica is adding another piece of hardware to its meeting-capture ecosystem with the Flowtica Verso, a $299 AI productivity companion designed to live on the back of a smartphone and keep meeting information visible without making you reopen an app. Unveiled ahead of IFA 2026, Verso combines voice recording, cloud-based AI processing, and a 259 ppi always-on e-paper touchscreen in a 98-gram magnetic device. It can record conversations, generate transcripts and summaries, surface follow-ups and calendars, and answer questions about past meetings. Early-access registration is open now through Flowtica’s website, with shipping expected in the fourth quater of 2026.
An E-Paper Screen Instead of Another App to Check
There’s no shortage of small voice recorders that can transcribe a meeting after it ends. Verso’s more interesting idea is what happens afterward. Rather than making the phone app the main destination for everything it captures, the device keeps selected information visible on its own e-paper display.
That could include meeting notes, transcripts, upcoming calendar items, open follow-ups, and AI-generated dashboards. Because e-paper can hold an image while using very little power, the screen can remain readable without behaving like another bright smartphone display that’s constantly asking for attention. Flowtica rates the display at 259 pixels per inch, or ppi, a measure of how densely its pixels are packed. The announcement compares that figure with a 226 ppi “Retina” benchmark, but the more useful question will be whether text looks crisp and comfortable at normal viewing distance.
The concept makes sense for someone who spends the day moving from one conversation to the next. After a client call, for example, Verso could leave the agreed follow-up visible on its screen while you walk into your next meeting. That’s potentially more useful than knowing the information exists somewhere inside an app, three taps and one forgotten password away.
Verso Records the Meeting, Then Organizes What Came Out of It
Starting a recording takes one press. Four MEMS microphones, the tiny microphones commonly used in phones and other compact electronics, work with a bone-conduction microphone to capture audio from up to 16.4′ away. The system can distinguish among as many as 15 speakers and create multilingual transcripts.
Afterward, Flowtica’s cloud-based processing can organize the conversation into a structured summary with decisions, action items, and follow-ups. A dedicated FlowMark button lets you flag an important moment while recording, similar to the feature on the company’s Scribe pen, so you don’t have to interrupt the conversation to make a note about the note you’ll need later.
Verso also has a dedicated Ask AI button. Pressing and holding it lets you query previous meetings, retrieve information, draft a follow-up email, brainstorm an idea, or generate a personalized dashboard. The appeal isn’t difficult to see if your workday produces a steady trail of commitments. Asking which deadline a client agreed to last Thursday is much faster than replaying a 47-minute recording and hoping your attention span survives the trip.
The Hardware Is Designed to Go Wherever Your Phone Goes
Verso weighs 98 grams and is built from a single piece of aluminum-magnesium alloy. It can attach magnetically to the back of a MagSafe-compatible smartphone, hang from a lanyard, sit on a desk stand, or mount to another magnetic surface.
Inside, there’s 64GB of storage, along with Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Near Field Communication, or NFC, and USB-C charging. NFC is the short-range wireless technology commonly used for tap-to-pay transactions. Here, Flowtica also uses it for an integrated digital business card, letting you share contact information by tapping Verso against a compatible device.
Battery life is rated at up to 72 hours, although the announcement doesn’t spell out the exact mix of recording, screen use, wireless connectivity, and standby time used to reach that figure. As with any battery estimate, someone recording hours of meetings every day may see a different result from someone mostly glancing at summaries and follow-ups.
Verso Takes a Different Route Than the Flowtica Scribe
The Flowtica Verso joins the $159 Flowtica Scribe, the company’s aluminum smart pen built for people who still want to take handwritten notes while recording a meeting. Scribe offers up to 30 hours of recording on one charge, up to 100 hours with its charging case, 32GB of onboard storage, a 16.4′ pickup range, support for as many as 15 identified speakers, and transcription in 39 languages.
Flowtica has also paired Scribe with the new Folio, a refillable recycled-leather notebook whose marked pages can be photographed in the Flowtica app and turned into searchable notes or follow-up tasks. In other words, Scribe and Folio are meant to preserve the pen-and-paper habit, while Verso is aimed more squarely at people who want the results of a recorded conversation sitting in front of them throughout the day.
Both approaches share FlowMark and a broader emphasis on turning meetings into something more useful than an audio file you’ll probably never replay.
The Always-Visible Recording Indicator Is a Good Choice
Recording other people brings responsibilities that don’t disappear because the recorder happens to be small and attractive. Verso has no camera, and a dedicated light remains illuminated whenever audio recording is active. That indicator can’t be disabled.
That’s a sensible design decision, although it doesn’t replace the need to follow applicable recording laws or workplace policies, and it doesn’t substitute for getting consent where appropriate.
There’s another privacy consideration worth watching. Flowtica describes Verso’s AI processing as cloud-based, while the device itself provides 64GB of local storage. Anyone planning to use it for confidential client meetings, medical discussions, legal work, or other sensitive conversations should examine Flowtica’s data handling, retention, and security policies before putting those recordings into the system. Those details aren’t included in the product announcement.
Early Access Comes Before a Fourth-Quarter 2026 Launch
Flowtica Verso has an anticipated launch price of $299, and early-access registration is open now. Early supporters are being offered 25% off that expected launch price, along with an unspecified early-bird gift. Flowtica expects Verso to begin shipping in Q4 2026.
That timing matters because Verso is still a forthcoming product, not something shoppers can evaluate from long-term field experience yet. The e-paper interface is the part that gives it a distinct identity, but its usefulness will depend heavily on how quickly information appears, how well the summaries hold up, how smoothly it moves between on-device information and the Flowtica app, and what the cloud service requires over time.
