Gear Must-Have: Gadget Genie Moisture Removal System

Judie knows gadgets. She’s been blogging for years and has tried out hundred and hundreds of different items and accessories. Many of them get “ooos and ahhs” from her, but rarely have I seen a product draw such immediate enthusiasm as this one. No, this product received an “OMG Great Idea!!! I need some to keep on hand!!”

What product caught her eye in such a big way? Is it a phone? Nope. Is it a tablet? Nope. Is it a new computer? Nope.

So what is it?

It is a bag. And no, it is not one of her fancy designer bags. This is the Gadget Genie, a simple looking bag that can save you heartache and money.

The Gadget Genie is for those times when the unthinkable happens… your phone, camera or similar electronics slips from your pocket and falls right into the toilet or sink.

In the past, you would quickly grab it out, shake it off and pray it comes back to life. In most cases those prayers go unanswered. Thanks to the Gadget Genie you don’t need to pray. Instead you simply take your now-wet device, towel it dry, remove the battery and place the device inside the Gadget Genie. Once sealed the Gadget Genie will do its magic and bring your device back to life before any real damage can be done. It takes overnight for a device that gets a bit wet and up to 72 hours if the device has been soaked.

Check out the fine print on the product page and you will find this…

gadget genie™ has successfully been tested to restore soaked electronics back to their working condition. It has dried and restored cell phones, iPhones®, Blackberry® smartphones, game players, watches and other electronic devices that have had an unfortunate encounter with liquid, including everyday beverages, to their proper working condition. We can’t promise gadget genie will fix your electronic gear after a serious encounter of this kind but it may be the only product that has a shot!

The Gadget Genie is just $14.95 with $3.95 shipping and handling. There are no guarantees it will fix your doused iPhone, but for under $20 it sure makes sense to keep one around… just in case.

  1. I nearly lost my iPhone 4 the first night I had it by taking a picture in the pouring rain; truly not my best moment, and I was really wishing I had something like this on hand when I was later brushing rice ust out of the sync&charge port.

I’ve ordered one for myself, and two to give away. :-)

  2. I bought three. 😛 Gear Must-Have: Gadget Genie Moisture Removal System
