wow what a price tag for carrying the ipad in style but they are pretty cool looking.

  8. I’ve had several Vaja cases for my and Sami’s iPhones, and we love ’em. I wouldn’t go for something that cost almost as much as the iPad it covers, though!

  9. These cases look beautiful, but… I’ve had trouble with Vaja Cases. I bought an iPhone partly because I “so” wanted to get a Vaja case. Most people gave them good reviews. I bought the Vaja black n red LE. Beautiful case. The first one I got was horribly crafted. I sent it back for another one. The replacement lasted for about 7 months. I received compliments all the time. The leather aged nicely, but the plastic on the closure tab began to wear through. It of course scratched the iPhone’s bezel. I sent this case back for a replacement. The replacement appeared to be made of a cheaper leather, and I was right. Not only did it not have that “sweet” leather smell, it didn’t age nicely at all. In fact, after just a few weeks of light use, it began to look moldy. You know what I mean… the way cheap leather wears down quickly to what looks like white mold on the surface. It looked horrible. I sent Vaja pictures. They told me I abused the case, but still offered me a refund. The refund was offered without me even asking for it. So either, they knew it was a low-grade leather, or they are just that nice. Either way, I hope one day I will feel confident to buy another Vaja case.

    • You got an iPhone for a case. You’re silly. Disappoints me that they started using cheaper leather, maybe it was a fluke who knows, glad to know they they stand behind their products refunds / exchanges and what not. I probably won’t be plucking down that much $$$ for a case for my gadget though. I don’t know the case of the Vaja iPad case is half the cost of the iPad! e-gads!

  10. I’ve personally had very good luck with Vaja, and am sorry to hear a out your issues, bikeohio. If you are interested, Beyza has a nice line of leather iPhone cases that are much less expensive that you might like.

Personally, I wish Vaja still had the Rivet clips as an option; having my iPhone on a Riven clip on my belt was just about perfect.

  11. Do you think the price of a Vaja case is well worth it? They really look great though the price is a bit steep.

  12. pat3ck – the Gear Diary editors gave me an ivolution case for my birthday; since it took 30 days (roughly) for it to be made and delivered, I received it just last week. I’ll post a review after using it for a bit, but so far I am enamored with it. The detachable cover makes it a very flexible and adaptable cover and case, and the craftsmanship is amazing. The fact that it smells so yummy is a bonus. 😉

  13. pat3ck: My Vaja Grip case for my iPhone cost around $100 or so, and I’ve had it for more than a year. I got a $30, plastic skin-like cast for my iPhone . . . and it lasted 2 weeks. So it’s definitely been worth it for me. The Grip with a clearcoating for the iPad would be something I would seriously consider. The iPad messenger bag looks really nice. And I find the Agenda fascinating–I keep hoping Judie gets one and reviews it for us.
