Safari.png

There are a ton of different stands now available for the iPad. They come in different shapes, sizes and materials and all make using the tablet an even better experience. Some of the stands we have reviewed have been a bit pricy. For example, the Jadu Skadoosh stand has an MSRP of $69.99, and the ElementCase Joule has an MSRP that STARTS at over $100. Both are fantastic but both are pricy. So what are you to do if you want a good stand for your iPad but are on a tight budget? That’s where the Amzer Foldo Stand Up stand comes in. At an MSRP of just $16.95 it is an inexpensive way to hold your iPad.

But it is any good? Read on…

When the stand came and I removed it from its box I immediately concluded “Cheap”. After all, the stand is all plastic except from the screws and quite light. Fortunately I never base my reviews on first impressions and I’m always happy to admit when I am wrong about a product. Yes, the stand is quite light- that’s the point- but there is nothing cheap about it except the price.

There are three “joints” on the stand –one to allow the legs to open into a “V”, one to lift the vertical piece and one to adjust the angle at which the device is held when in the stand. All of them are surprisingly strong and all ratchet into place so that the stand stays in whatever position you choose without having to loosen or tighten anything. It is a simple design that makes using the stand quite easy.

Because your iPad can be naked or in a case, the stand is always usable no matter where you are or what you are doing. And because it is so light you can easily toss it in your gadget bag and forget it is there… Until you need it of course.

Here’s a quick product video from the company…

So yes, the Foldo Stand Up is cheap… In price… But it is well designed, incredibly useful and light enough to carry everywhere. At under $20 it is worth getting one for yourself and giving a few to family and friends when they finally jump on the iPad-train.

The Amzer Foldo Stand Up can be ordered directly from Amzer as well as a host of on-line stores.

MSRP: $16.95

What I Like: Small and light; folds up for easy transport; once placed into position stays put; non-skid material on the base; same material keep the iPad from slipping
