IK Multimedia Ships iKlip Studio for iPad

At CES and NAMM (and beyond), IK Multimedia introduced a number of cool new products. Some – such as DJ Rig – have already been released (and I am finishing up my review now), while we are still waiting for others such as iStomp and iRig Mix. But now we have shipping news for another cool product – the iKlip Studio stand for the iPad! Here are some details: iKlip Studio is constructed of lightweight, shock-resistant, durable thermoplastic material that reliably supports the iPad in both horizontal and vertical positions. Rubber foot pads grip the desktop surface and prevent unwanted…

An Argument for Braces, If You Still Aren’t Convinced

I know plenty of people whose parents opted not to get them braces when they were younger; some of these people could care less about whether a few of their teeth are bunched up a bit or not, but there are a few who are genuinely embarrassed by their smiles. The discussion of braces comes up every now and then, and one of the arguments against getting them has been that it would be silly to wear braces as an adult. After seeing this video, my comeback will now and forevermore be that if your smile bothers you and you…

Moog Brings Bowel-Shaking BASE Pack to Animoog!

I have talked about the high quality musical production tools available on the iPad, and one of the best sounding and most flexible instruments is AniMoog from music pioneers Moog Music. The $30 app is more than a toy – it is an amazingly powerful music processor and sound generator. The new update adds the ‘Animoog Store’, which will allow you to buy new sets of timbres and presets to expand the already broad functionality of Animoog. The first addition to the store is called the ‘BASE Pack’, which stands for ‘Biomimetically Augmented Synthesis Expansion’. Here is the description from…

MOG For iPad Review

There was a time when I was totally against the idea of streaming music services. I was stuck in the old ways of thinking I must own all of my media and had a large collection. Due to a hard drive issue, I decided to give MOG a try and never looked back. Having a much larger library of music at my disposal than I could ever collect which is available on all of my devices anytime has been awesome. While there can be a separate discussion/debate on which service is the best, this post will simply focus on the…

The Z-Connector iPhone Case (with Chain!) Review

I’m a pocket watch kind of guy.  I have asked for, received, and used nice pocket watches since I was a teen.  In fact, I managed to initially catch the eye of one of my pre-marriage gas with a pocket watch: at a party, she spotted the gold chain attached to my pants, came over, and said, “Is there a watch attached to that chain?”  (We dated for 3 years!)  So yeah, I like pocket watches. The iPhone is small enough to fit in pretty much anyone’s pants pocket, of course, and I have long wondered why someone didn’t create…

Love Bacon? Now You Can Take Your Love to the Grave!

You are born. You live. You die. And now … you can be buried in a BACON coffin! According to a local NBC news story, a Seattle company named J & D’s Foods – the guys behind products such as Baconaisse and BaconLube – have just introduced the Bacon Coffin. Here is their description: Is there a better way to show your love of bacon forever than to be buried wrapped in it? We don’t think so. This genuine bacon casket is made of 18 Gauge Gasketed Steel with Premium Bacon Exterior/Interior, and includes a Memorial and Record Tube, Adjustable…

Mahjongg Artifacts Chapter 2 for the Kindle Fire Review

Not long ago I reviewed the Kindle Fire version of Mahjongg Artifacts. Now we get a look at the sequel, which had found tremendous success as one of the most popular PSP Minis. Ironically the sequel was released before the original game on that platform, but on the Kindle Fire both were released together. The original game was excellent on the Fire, let’s see how the sequel plays! The Hype: Mahjongg Artifacts: Chapter 2 is highly addictive tile-matching game with millions of players on PC and other platforms. It takes tile-matching games in an exciting new direction! Pair up tiles…

Twitter Meets Toilet Humor with Sh-tter

Before I get into Sh-tter, the Twitter Toilet Paper (and yes, it is a real product!), I need to share a quick story. You see, this is not my first experience with novelty toilet paper. After college my friend made extra money by advertising moving services on Craigslist, and somehow a bunch of us got sucked into helping. One of our jobs was to pack a U-Haul for a grad student who was moving, and his biggest concern was packing the room full of “Sh*t-Be-Gone” toilet paper he was selling. It is the only time in my life someone has…

Bluetooth Earrings Let You Walk, Talk AND Look Stylish

Here’s a piece of ear-wear that you aren’t going to want to miss. We already KNOW that everything goes better with Bluetooth. Still, who wants to walk about with something stuck in their ear? It look funky, it feels funky and preferring the sound being injected into your ear canal, it blocks out the sound that is right around you. Well Judie has been Beta-testing a new approach for some time now and it is ready to be shared with the world. Yes, you would never know that Judie was wearing a Bluetooth headset… she is. In fact, you can…

Google, This Is Why You FAIL

This morning I got excited, at first.  I saw on my phone and my tablet that Temple Run has had an update.  The game has been less than stable on all of my devices so I was anxious to get the update to see if it was fixed. So I go to the Google Play Store to download it and get an error 927.  Tried multiple times and got both error 927 and 941.  Cleared data on the Google Play store, force stopped the app, rebooted and tried multiple things and was still unable to download the game.   I am…

500 iPads Purchased for Most Unlikely Use, Entertaining Cows

A mid-western dairy is reportedly purchasing 500 iPads for use in a most unusual way. They have found that having an iPad at eye-level, playing music and showing slides of other cows, while milking takes place yields up to 50% more milk and the milk that results is sweeter than normal. “I just stumbled upon this by accident after my wife Jane purchased me an iPad for Valentines Day.” said the owner of the farm. (He requested that he not be identified.) Now here is the funny thing- it seems that different cows like different types of music and imagery…
