There are times when the simplest of ideas can be the best. The Bluelounge Kickflip is a good example of this. The Kickflip is a small strip of plastic that lifts your Macbook and creates a more ergonomic platform for your typing. Available for both the 13″ and 15″ Macbook it is simple… And impressive. The Kickflip adheres to the bottom of your laptop with adhesive that is already in place on the accessory. You simply pull back the protective layer, reveal the adhesive and stick it to the bottom of your laptop.
Where the Bluelounge Kickflip stands out is in its ability to remain adhered to your laptop at all times and then, with the flip of one half of it, extend and raise your laptop enough to allow increased airflow and a comfortable typing angle.
From Bluelounge:
- Taking laptops to the next level, Kickflip is a stand that elevates your laptop at an ergonomic angle.
- Kickflip is on a hinge and stays affixed to the bottom of your laptop using a high-tech, yet removable and repositionable adhesive.
- When you need a lift, simply flip the Kickflip out and kick back and enjoy the comfort of working from an elevated position.
When you are not using it the Kickflip is barely noticeable. When you want to use it flipping it into position takes less than a second. And when you are done it simply takes one additional second to push it back into its flat position.
I put the Bluelounge Kickflip on my Macbook Pro and found it to be a great addition to my laptop when typing on the go. Unfortunately I have a protective film on my laptop that is textured. Either the material of the film or the texture didn’t agree with the adhesive on the Kickflip and it came off after just a few days. That is, however, an issue with my particular laptop skin and not the Kickflip. I’m bummed because I found the Kickflip to be quite helpful when typing on the go but also realize that it was designed to adhere directly to the laptop and wasn’t designed for use with such skins.
If you have a protective skin on your laptop the Bluelounge may or may not work. If, however, you do not protect your Macbook with a skin it is definitely worth checking out. You can learn more and order yours- it comes in two sizes- for $17.95 here on the Bluelounge website.
