I wrote about Wellograph when it was first announced in September, and have had one since they were first available. The rate of improvements has been incredible, so when I heard about the new stuff announced at CES, I thought ‘of course’, without surprise. The new functionality is definitely worth noting if you have considered buying a Wellograph.
At CES today Wellograph announced a number of new capabilities for their Wellness watch. They also announced new Pink Gold and White Pearl sapphire crystal faces for the watches, along with new Pink Leather, Blue Leather and White Leather strap options.
New Capabilities
Coming later in January, a major update to the Wellograph Watch OS brings new capabilities and refinements to existing functionality.
The major technical advance is automated sleep tracking and ‘body readiness’ tests. The sleep cycle tracker detects deep vs. light sleep and REM cycles automatically and provides reports via the app. Body readiness works with the heart rate monitor to help track stress levels.
The new OS version will also include Wellograph Live, which allows users to interact with their friends to compare results and compete based on steps and other criteria.
And these new features, along with the streamlined Bluetooth, improved communications, better watch options and much better heart rate and step tracking all come together without any compromise to the data storage capacity or battery life.
New Updated App
Along with the watch firmware, the iOS and Android apps have seen constant but smaller updates since launch, and are prepared to make a major leap in functionality. The functionality hasn’t been detailed but the screens shown indicate a much improved interface, more options, and the integration of the Wellograph Live functionality.
New Watch Options
As noted, Wellograph is unveiling new Pink Gold and White Pearl watch faces, along with White Leather, Light Blue Leather, Pink Leather, Black Leather and Black Nato strap options.
With the availability of a variety of color options the watch units and bands will soon be purchased separately, with Watch + Strap bundles starting at $329.
