A few weeks ago, we reviewed the Wally Micro, the smallest of Distil Union’s wallet offerings. The Micro is great if you want to travel light. At the other end of the spectrum is the Distil Union Wally Agent Billfold Wallet. It isn’t all that large, but it holds significantly more than the Micro. Here’s a look.

The Distil Union Wally Agent has an MSRP of $79.99. It looks great, is constructed well, and it holds plenty of cards and cash without being too big or bulky. This slim billfold has interior pull-tab pockets that let you not only keep your cards and cash organized but, thanks to Distilled Union’s design; it also lets you access your most frequently used cards quickly.

Distil Union describes it this way:

Streamlined, meet organized. Our take on the typical billfold sports four interior pockets plus a section for bills, making Agent the ideal choice for a front-pocket wallet that smartly conceals your carry.

The Wally Agent features:

  • The ability to hold 12 cards and up to 30 or more bills
  • Two quick-access slots and two Wally Pull-Tab™ pockets help organize cards
  • Fabric-lined bill section accommodates notes up to 92mm tall
  • Rich full-grain leather, skilled craftsmanship, and 1-year warranty

Measuring 3.7” tall by 3.8” wide by 0.3” thin, it fits bills up to 3.6 x 6.1″ That means it is ready for US cash but will also hold most other types of currency as well.

This wallet is loaded up but still looks and feels thin.

The main idea behind the Wally Agent is that is lets you carry everything you might need but in a slimmer package than most wallets with similar capacity. That’s important for a host of reasons, not the least of which is the ability to avoid the back pain that comes from sitting on a huge, thick, “fat Costanza” wallet. (That’s their term, not mine!) The Wally Agent is even thin enough that you can keep it in your front pocket. That, as the company notes, is not only better for your back and your back pocket, but it provides “a smoother silhouette and less wear and tear on your clothing.”

The leather Distil Union uses is soft and refined. That refinement is then extended to the construction of the accessory. The edges of the leather are rolled for a finished appearance, and the striating is clean, perfectly spaced and has no loose threads. Inside and out the Wally Agent looks like a classy wallet for people who like luxury leather goods.

An open section on the inside of the Wally Agent is large enough for stowing a variety of bills without the need to fold them over.

Each side has an open slit that can hold one or two of your most frequently used cards.

Each side also has a horizontal pocket that sports a Wally Pull-Tab for easy access to the various cards you choose to keep there. I love the design of the Wally Pull-Tab. It is unique to Distilled Union’s wallets and makes accessing hidden cards a simple process.

As the explain:

Two quick-access slots plus two Wally Pull-Tab pockets give you options for sorting your card stash. For the tabs we selected grosgrain ribbon for its durability and uniquely satisfying tactile feedback (in other words, it just feels good when you pull it).

What stands out for me the most is the way the Wally Agent takes the most important feature of traditional wallets and combines them with the unique features of Distil Union’s offerings. The cash pouch will be instantly familiar if you have ever used a bi-fold wallet. Then, is a design that is all-but brilliant, Distil Union combines the cards slots found on most wallets with their Wally Pull-Tab pockets. The result is a wallet that both keeps your cards organized AND makes them easy to access on the fly.

It is a great wallet that can only be appreciated by actually holding and using it. Since you can’t do that, let me share this promo video with you. It makes clear how smart the design of the Wally Agent is.

I’m a fan of this wallet. So is Raina, though, which is why she is currently using the Wally Agent. I, on the other hand, am using the Distilled Union wallet I’ll be reviewing next. If the Wally Agent looks like something that might meet your needs, you can check out the Wally Agent here.

Like your review, and really love that you listed the size of the bills it will fit. Im very interested in getting this wallet. However I do have one concern. I live in China the the size of the bills are 15.6 cm in length. Would these fit inside this wallet, or would it be better to continue my search for the “perfect” wallet elsewhere?
