The Lowdown
The effects of Delta-8 are lighter than Delta-9 (THC), but if you hit the CBD Living Delta-8 cartridge repeatedly, you will get a mild psychotropic effect (a buzz). CBD Living suggests taking a puff or two, waiting to see what effects you feel after some time, and then going from there, which is good advice!

You may have seen or heard of Delta-8 THC in gummy, vape, and other forms. It’s very similar to Delta-9, better known as the compound in marijuana that makes you high. The key differences are that Delta-8 provides a milder high, and it is derived from hemp, making it legal across the US thanks to the 2018 Farm Bill. We were sent a sample of CBD Living Delta-8 vape cartridges, and we were very excited to check them out!
A quick primer on Delta-8: Available in oil tinctures, gummies, and vapes, many people find that Delta-8 gives similar benefits to Delta-9 (THC), including enhanced focus, nausea control, pain relief, better focus, eased stress, and improved mood without the paranoia or anxiety some people feel when using Delta-9.
While Delta-8 provides a milder buzz, it can still have a sedative effect, so you should not use it and then attempt to drive, work, or do anything else that requires you not to be impaired. You should know that Delta-8 can also show up on a drug test,
It’s essential to make sure you’re buying from a reputable Delta-8 vendor who provides a certificate of analysis (COA) from a third-party laboratory. This COA shows you that what you’re consuming is what you bought, and it should be available either as a printout or as a QR code on any packaging you receive.
Not only does the COA reassure you as the consumer that the product contains less than 0.3% THC, but it’s also proof that the product is 2018 Farm Bill compliant.
Delta-8 is not naturally occurring in large quantities in hemp, so it must be chemically extracted and converted in a lab. To ensure that you are not buying Delta-8 cartridges that contain THC or other impurities, it’s essential to buy from a company that provides COAs and stands behind its products.
In other words, you really shouldn’t buy your Delta-8 from the convenience store on the corner.
CBD Living sent us cartridges of their Delta-8 in Grape Ape Indica, Pineapple Express Hybrid, and Strawberry Cough Sativa. The cartridges are threaded for 510 batteries, and if you don’t have one handy they’re fairly easy to find online or in most smoke shops, from a basic 510 battery to one of the gorgeous Vessel batteries that we reviewed.
To use the CBD Living Delta-8 cartridges, you’ll just screw one onto your charged battery, and you’re set to start puffing.
Taste-wise, CBD Living Delta-8 cartridges hit it out of the park. We’re partial to the Pineapple Haze flavor, but all the cartridges offer a pleasant fruity taste and leave the room smelling sweet.
If someone were to walk in after you tried it, they might ask if you’d been using a fruity air freshener or lit a candle recently, but it wouldn’t immediately scream, “I’ve been consuming a mildly psychoactive product!”

Even as someone with Delta-8 experience, I accidentally overdid it one night and found myself lying on the couch completely spaced out for about 45 minutes.
When using CBD Living Delta-8 cartridges, you should take it slow, and don’t let the fruity flavors trick you into vaping more than you should!
CBD Living’s Delta-8 cartridges retail for $40 apiece, and they do offer them for $36 if you opt to subscribe and save. If vaping isn’t in your comfort zone, you can also pick up gummies, topical cream, or single-shot drinks.
If you live in an area where marijuana is not yet legal, or you want to enjoy a slightly lighter high, CBD Living’s Delta-8 products may be just what you need!
