SCOTTEVEST Carry-On Coat Review and Giveaway

LittleSnapper.png

SCOTTEVEST recently rolled out another neat travel product. In this case, it is a coat specifically designed for travel. The SeV CARRY-ON COAT has 33 pockets (33!!!!!) and can actually replace a carry-on. Here’s how Scott describes the jacket on the site.

Sometimes when going on a trip, people choose to “pack light,” and this usually means carrying a small bag or two. The Carry-On Coat redefines packing light by allowing you to replace the contents of a typical carry-on bag with a precisely engineered structure of pockets and compartments built into the coat.

No more extra bag fees, carry-on fees, or trying to stuff a carry-on bag under the seat in front of you; this coat holds as much as a bag, but is not subject to the airline rules and regulations. Consider it your free pass to hands-free travel… this is the SeV the airlines don’t want you to know about.

SCOTTEVEST is known around the world for our travel clothing with many built-in pockets, but the Carry-On Coat raises the bar. We’ve included 33 pockets designed with our NoBulgeTM pocket structure and Weight Management System built in, so even if you are carrying three days’ worth of wardrobe items, toiletries and other essentials, you won’t look or feel like you are.

We designed the Carry-On Coat for precisely this purpose: to allow travelers to go away for a weekend with everything they need (including clothing!) inside the coat. Fully self-contained travel.

Going through security at the airport could not be easier. No bags to check, no bag fees and you can put the Carry-On Coat right through the x-ray machine (without emptying anything from your pockets except liquids and your laptop).

We have even included an easy-access 3-1-1 pocket for carrying the regulation 1 quart bag of 3oz. liquids, so no fumbling on your way to the gate.

The Carry-On Coat is made of a Teflon®-treated waterproof and breathable material, and styled like a traditional Trench Coat. There is carrying capacity for up to four shirts and t-shirts, two pairs of slacks, socks, ties, underwear, toiletries and more.

These items are in addition to what our typical travel features, which allow you to securely carry travel documents, cell phones and MP3 players (with our patented Personal Area Network – PAN), eyeglasses and digital cameras.

iPads and similarly-sized items can also fit in most sizes, so even if you’re traveling light there’s no need to leave anything behind. Available in Khaki. Made of Teflon®-treated Waterproof/Breathable 100% Polyester. Machine Washable.

There is a ton I COULD write about the CARRY-ON COAT, but I think this brief video kinda says it all… (For more details check out the product page over on the SCOTTEVEST SITE…)

Read on, however, for our summary of the jacket AND a chance to win this specific CARRY-ON COAT…

So that is a silly look at the CARRY-ON COAT. No, you would not want to fill it up quite so much (or use it to carry baking supplies), but you could. And that’s the point. The CARRY-ON COAT gives you the option to carry all the things you need right on you — as much or as little as that might be. Get to airport security, put the coat on the x-ray machine conveyor belt and you are good to go.

The CARRY-ON COAT is available in sizes small through XXXL and is available directly from the SCOTTEVEST website.

MSRP: $225

What I Like: Tons of pockets; thoughtfully designed and well-made; can be especially useful for someone who travels a great deal

What Needs Improvement: One of the more “travel-specific” items in the SeV lineup; Not as stylish as other SeV jackets

  2. I’d go for the Pack Windbreaker, which would give me a crazy total of 50 pockets 😮

I’d like it so that I can have a light Scottevest to wear around when it’s too warm for my Soft Shell or Evolution 🙂

  3. Second entry:

    He pulls out

    1) a Kindle
    2) sunglasses
    3) an iPhone

  4. Main Entry:

    1) I would be most likely to purchase the SeV Travel and Sports Shorts. I just returned from a 5-day trip with no luggage. I wore the SeV Hidden Cargo Pants for all 5 days. It would be nice to have a lightweight second pair of pants or shorts so I could wash one pair while I wear the other. The SeV Travel and Sports Shorts sound ideal for this. They would also serve as pajamas at night and could substitute for a bathing suit in a pinch.

    2) Hidden Cargo Pants + Carry-On Coat = 10 + 33 = 43 pockets.

  5. Bonus Entry:

    1) SeV Cotton T-Shirt
    2) SeV Travel Boxers
    3) SeV Travel Pants

  6. Kinda rough to not be able to pick something already taken… I’m gonna go with the pack windbreaker though because it doubles up as a pillow. You have an extra piece of clothing in the jacket that can keep you warm at your destination, and while you’re getting there, you have something to keep you comfortable on the plane. That would be 50 pockets.

  7. Bonus entry:
    iPad
    Passport
    Sev Travel Boxers

  9. My top choice will actually be the essential travel jacket for woman. My girlfriend can wear it and we will have a whopping total of 51 pockets (!). The insane amount of pockets come in very handy, especially when travelling.

  10. For bonus chance: iPhone 3GS, iPhone4 and iPad
