Whether you’re serving wine at your holiday get-togethers or bringing a hostess gift to the friends throwing a party, you’re going to want to have a wine that tastes good yet doesn’t break the bank. I recently discovered Cameron Hughes — a vintor that makes small batch lots; these wines are fab, and when they are gone, they are gone.
While each Lot varies in appellation, case quantity, and price; they all bring a unique pairing of premium wine and exceptional value. We preserve the ultra-premium quality of each original Lot by giving each a new Lot number.
I was sent an assortment of 6 red wines that included a 2015 Old Vine Zinfandel (Lot 537) from Alexander Valley, a 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon (Lot 540) from Lodi, a 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon (Lot 613) from Red Mountain, a 2015 Pinot Noir (Lot 565) from Oregon, a 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon (Lot 606) from Rutherford, and a 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon (Lot 534) from Columbia Valley.
So far, we’ve tried the 2013 Cabernet (Lot 613) …
… and the 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon (Lot 534).
Both were delicious, rich, and dry — just like Kev and I like our wine. We are excited to try the others!
Prices for Cameron Hughes wines start at $12 with the most expensive running about $35; there’s something for everyone.
Even better, Cameron Hughes has partnered with gummy bear purveyor Sugarfina and chocolatier Christopher Elbow to create delicious gift sets that will be much appreciated. There are prices for all budgets, and these gift sets are a few that I thought looked interesting …
