TCL is wildly underrated in the phone space. They’ve been popping out excellent Android phones for several generations, constantly improving speed, displays, and cameras. Best of all, they’re reasonably priced and make an amazing bang for your budget. If you haven’t been paying attention yet, here’s your chance with the TCL 50 XL 5G on Metro by T-Mobile!
We will cover the many reasons why this phone sounds great, but we’ll start with the biggest: $159.99. That’s the MSRP, and Metro will give it to you for free with an autopay of $60 or more.
Free is always great, but that’s a screaming deal, even at full price.
The TCL 50 XL 5G sports a 6.78″ FHD screen, a 50-megapixel hybrid rear camera system, an 8-megapixel front-facing selfie camera, and a MediaTek Octa-core 5G chip. So you’ve got looks, pics, and speed all rolled into one, along with a 5,010 mAh battery that offers up to 25 hours of talk time.
It also sports 128GB of storage and 6GB RAM, along with the ability to add up to 2TB via MicroSD. (As an aside, 2TB! In a budget phone! Remember when the original iPhone had 8GB, and everyone was like, WOOOOOOW?)
The 50 XL also offers NXTVISION technology for a truly phenomenal viewing experience on the go. I’ve used prior versions of the TCL phones with NXTVISION, and they’re fantastic. This newest version will undoubtedly impress me.
You might not immediately think of TCL when considering solid phones that won’t break your wallet. But you’re missing out on mighty phones in affordable packages!
