Everyday carry flashlights have come a long way in the past few years. Quality has gone up, and price has gone down. The FlashlightGo Store specializes in many kinds of lights, knives, and accessories. They recently sent me the Imalent BL50 Dual Light Sources EDC Flashlight to review, which has a bright CREE LED and a UV light; it did not disappoint.

The Imalent BL50 has great features and a rugged build quality; it is available in Black, Gray, Green, and Blue. In addition to the CREE XHP50.3 HI 5700K-6500K, this dual-source flashlight has a 698mW 365nm wavelength UV light.

It’s fairly obvious why you’d want the main LED on a flashlight, but you might wonder why a UV light would be handy. UV lights reveal hidden details that are otherwise unseen by the human eye; you can use them to spot counterfeit currency, pinpoint fluorescent minerals, or spot elusive insects, like the striped bark scorpions that are common in Texas.

The Imalent BL50 Dual Light Sources EDC Flashlight package includes a light, lanyard, and USB C to USBC charging cable.

The Imalent BL50 measures 95.5mm long by 34.5mm in diameter and weighs 158 grams. Its unique shape and ergonomics feel great in your hand, and I like that this light has a bit of heft, giving it a rugged, high-quality feel. It is impact-resistant to 1.5 meters and IP68 dust and waterproof, which means it can be submerged up to 2 meters.

The Imalent BL50 Dual Light Sources EDC Flashlight’s aerospace-grade aluminum alloy body has a wear-resistant Type-III matte hard-anodized surface treatment. Its shape has rounded and flat sides.

The flat side includes the USB-C charging port and the display screen. There is also a secondary power button. One tap turns on the lowest flashlight setting, and two taps turn on the UV light.

The built-in multi-functional OLED display looks great and shows real-time battery status, brightness levels, and runtime.

The Imalent BL50 offers six brightness levels, ranging from 5 Lumens to 2000 Lumens. Holding the power button on the back of the light toggles through the levels. The high output mode is exceptionally bright, and there is a lighting level to suit any situation.
