Even the latest phones don’t usually have enough battery to go through the entire day if you are a heavy phone user like myself. Even if you aren’t a heavy user, you likely still carry a battery and cable just in case you need to top off. Does the Thinium Recharge [+]2.0 fit the bill of convenience? Let’s find out.
It’s easy to forget as our gadgets go wireless that sometimes wired has a place. I haven’t reached for wired headphones in a long time, and using the Brainwavz B200 made me realize I’ve been seriously missing out!
My 12″ MacBook is so light and thin; I always have it in my backpack. It’s probably the most convenient laptop I’ve ever had, but there is one huge drawback: it only has one USB Type-C port. No memory card slots, no extra USB ports, no nuthin’. The Satechi USB-C MultiMedia Adapter adds memory card slots, USB ports, and more.
South Texas mosquitos are often the size of a pigeon and seem to be super hungry for human blood. I have used a Thermacell for hunting and outdoors for years. Their new Radius Zone Mosquito Repellent ($49.99) brings scent free, powerful protection with only one refill component and a rechargeable battery. Let’s see how it holds up to summer skeeters.
I recently had the good people from Vivint come and install a home automation system/security system in my home. Vivint provides a ton of options and provides professional installation with every purchase. Read on to see how the process and products have transformed my home.
Memorial Day has become regarded as the unofficial kick-off of summer, and with that distinction, the beginning of outdoor grilling season. If you’re a fan of barbecue or low-and-slow cooking in general, temperature control is vitally important to your efforts’ success. I’ve recently discovered an extremely useful tool that has upped my barbecue game, the Flame Boss 300.
If you are looking for a great-sounding, comfortable pair of wireless over-the-ear headphones for under $100 look no further than the Plantronics BackBeatGO 600 Over-the-Ear Wireless Headphones. They offer great sound and superb battery life. At just $99.99, the headphones, which come in Navy, Grey, Black or Khaki, are as good for your ears as they are for your budget.
The Flash TV show on the CW is a mixed bag. It’s not the best-written show, but it transcends script weakness through the sheer charm and chemistry of the cast. The One61 Flash Smartwatch is taking notes from the TV show; it has a lot of flaws, but it’s just so darn cute it almost balances out.
The Camp Chef SmokePro SG Pellet Grill is that rare breed of equipment that’s so easy to use; you can feel like a master after your first cook. Although this was the first pellet grill/smoker I’ve ever used, the SmokePro SG made me feel like a championship BBQ pitmaster. Starting at $749.99, the SmokePro SG belongs in every carnivore’s backyard.
With pools opening this weekend for Memorial Day, if you are looking for a great Bluetooth speaker to take with you poolside, to the beach, or even near the grill, you should check out the Blitzwolf BW-AS1 Wireless Bluetooth Speaker.
I bought an L-shaped bamboo-topped standing desk last year. With grand illusions of doing all of my work while standing, I also bought the large Topo Mat to help with fatigue … but after 10 minutes of standing still, my back starts hurting, and I’m back in my chair — gah! And then I got the Ergo Impact LeanRite Elite.
Judie and I first met when we were doing a podcast. She had already started Gear Diary, and I was a staff writer from Just Another Mobile Monday. A few weeks ago, Judie was on a friend’s podcast. She sounded great but commented that she needed a better podcasting setup. I told her one piece of it should be the Blue Designs Compass.
I like listening to music at night as I try to fall asleep. I hate the fact that our neighbors’ kitchen light often shines right into our bedroom. Thanks to the 1 Voice Sleep Headphones Eye Mask, I can kill two burdensome nighttime birds with one stone. Soft material blocks light while speakers rock the night.
3 Legged Thing offers a range of tripods. Most are designed for professionals but their Iggy Mini Tripod, GoPro Adapter, and Phone Cradle offer “portable, versatile and multi-functional” phone stability for everyone looking to take great pictures with their iPhone or GoPro.
Wireless earbuds have finally come into their own. You can now buy high-end earphones with great sound, excellent battery life, and ANC. You can also find inexpensive earbuds that sound quite good! (IFROGZ has some great offerings!) To keep them charged, IFROGZ has released the Cocoon Earbud Recharging Case. At under $30 it’s an interesting idea for a wireless world.
If you have less than three things that require USB charging sitting on your desk, then I’m impressed with your minimalism! My electronics tend to sit in a “charging pile”; it’s neither pretty nor visually efficient. Now that I have the udoq400, there is no more charging pile; I can see and use my devices as they charge.
If you have allergies that flare up periodically and are attempting to fight off things like the common cold and nasal congestion, you should really check out the Everlasting Comfort Ultrasonic Humidifier. We received one and have been putting it through the paces for the past month.
If you like to ride your bike early in the morning or right before the sun goes down, then you know that there’s a fine line between decent riding vision and “too dark to see”. You need a good light to get you safely home, and the Cycle Torch Shark 55R Bike Light will give you just that.
The I’ve seen many smart home devices, but none of them actively protect your home from danger more so than the Flo leak detection system. Flo is a security system for your home’s water system that constantly monitors to catch leaks, prevent water damage, and save you money. Flo is available for purchase at an introductory price of $499.
If you’re still throwing your keys and wallet on a countertop when you get home, you’re going to appreciate the Pitaka MagHive. Not only is it an attractive central location for you to keep the things you can’t leave home without, it’s an intelligent hub the whole family can use.
As much fun as this looks, a garden torch probably isn’t the safest and best way to light a barbecue grill. I have used a torch hooked up to a propane tank in the past, but despite my friend’s enthusiasm in this photo, I’ve found a better way: The Bison Airlighter 420. Here’s why The Bison is a significant improvement.
