Audioengine makes some of my favorite speakers; I’ve reviewed a number of them and use them daily in both my home office and bedroom. Now Audioengine has announced the A5+ Wireless speakers. With pricing starting at $399, the A5+ won’t take up a ton of space but will fill a room with quality sound. That, however, is just the beginning.
Against all expectations, vinyl sales continue to rise. That means that more people than ever are buying record players. However, building a stereo setup for your vinyl can be a difficult undertaking if you don’t know what you’re looking for.
New York City-based audio company (and a favorite here at Gear Diary), Master & Dynamic announced today a collaboration with fine artist Scott Campbell to create a special edition of their most popular headphones to expand their fleet.
Wireless headphones have become a staple in my life and I love getting great sound. Over the ear options are often pretty bulky, so luckily Phiaton has released the BT 390 Compact headphones ($79.99). These smaller headphones fold up for easy carry but do not disappoint with the audio quality. Let’s take a look.
It’s hard to talk about pool parties and camping trips when many of us are still waiting on at least one more winter storm, but spring is coming — and gone are your excuses to stay inside. The Braven Ready Elite is ready for all of your upcoming outdoor adventures; it’s waterproof, shockproof, and it gives 12-hour battery life.
Fact: Some things are inexpensive and they perform poorly, and then there are some expensive things which are made to last which perform splendidly. When I received the Shinola Canfield On-Ear Wired Headphones, I had no doubt that their construction was top-notch; I couldn’t help but wonder, though, if their sound would justify their $495 price. Shall we find out?
Among the many headphones and wireless speakers that we saw at Monster’s CES booth, was a small display with three pairs of truly wireless in-ear headphones. They were all similar in style, but one set was aimed towards work-outs. The other two sets were what we were eyeing, though; one look at the Monster Airlink Elements, and we were smitten.
I have a very specific set of requirements for headphones: They need to be budget friendly, sweat proof, fit my ears, and they need to stay put. This seems like a relatively simple list, but finding headphones that adhere to all four is remarkably tough. Earbuds don’t fit my ears right, and over the ear headphones get sweaty easily.
If you’ve never heard of Modular, they are an American-based Audio company that has taken to CES to introduce their Mod-1 Digital, Analog, and Wireless Headphones. Coming complete with an awesome design and even greater quality, the Mod-1 Headphones are a Swiss Army Knife when it comes to audio experience. With its Bluetooth technology, the Mod-1 headphones also come with a micro SD Card to store your music so you can even go without your phone when you’re listening. I’m actually really interested in this feature as I’ve never had headphones with that compatibility. What’s more, the Mod-1’s come with an…
Some time ago I reviewed the Plantronics BackBeat 500 on-ear headphones. At under $80, they were, and are a great deal. When Plantronics sent me the BackBeat FIT 300 for review they also sent me the new, BackBeat FIT 500 on-ear headphones. They look exactly like the BackBeat 500 headphones I reviewed previously, yet there are a few important differences.
Vinyl is back with a vengeance. 2017 was the twelfth consecutive year that vinyl sales have risen. It’s also the year that I got the most questions from newcomers to the hobby about the best start turntables.
If you’ve been burdened with Amazon’s Echo ruining your home Decor, it’s time for you to upgrade to the Harman Kardon Allure Portable Digital Assistant Speaker.
How does JBL follow their popular JBL Xtreme portable Bluetooth speaker? By going bigger. And that’s exactly what they did with the XTREME 2, an even MORE powerful follow up to one of JBL’s most sold electronics in 2017.
A good pair of headphones is hard to find, but if you’re tired of searching, then you might want to check out JBL’s recently updated Everest series. Sporting three different models, the JBL Everest collection (710GA, 310GA, and 110GA) are made with different wearers in mind, depending on if you like around ear, on-ear, and in-ear.
Just announced at CES 2018 are four new models of the JBL Endurance, the company’s line of sport earphones for active lifestyles. JBL’s Endurance line includes the Endurance RUN, SPRINT, JUMP, and DIVE, all things I like to do, but all designed with a unique set of features that vary according to the activity. The SPRINT, JUMP, and DIVE MODELS all come with waterproof functionality that allows you to take them in the rain, in the cold, and most importantly, in the gym. After that intense workout, you can run them under your sink and rinse them clean which is a…
We are fans of the JBL Clip 2, and when we saw that the company had announced the 3rd edition of their Bluetooth speaker at CES in Vegas, we had to check it out. So what’s changed? And the answer is a whole lot. Taking evolution to a whole new level is the JBL Clip 3, a portable waterproof Bluetooth speaker that doesn’t slack on the features. With ten hours of battery life, an even better audio performance due to JBL tweaking the internals, the Clip 3 also adds a bit of flair with some new colors which will match…

Flaunting studio quality sound and a brilliant design, the N5005 were made with precision, courtesy of AKG working with sound curves and frequency responses to give an optimal sound quality that listeners will love.
Moshi is an accessory design house we first got to know at CES a few years ago. They make awesome products, and we are excited to see them releasing a brand new product, the Avanti Air wireless headphones. The headphones are designed to blend minimalism with a luxurious aesthetic. We think they achieved their goal. What do you think?
I’m a huge fan of Libratone products. Their speakers can’t be beaten and now offer integration with Amazon Alexa. Their Q Adapt headphones are some of the best on the market. Now, Libratone is unveiling the Libratone TRACK+ In-Ear Wireless Adjustable Noise Cancellation Earphones. Their smallest wireless headphones yet, the TRACK+ allow you rock on in isolation from the world.
If you read our review last year about the YEVO 1 headphones, then you know how phenomenal they are both in looks and in the listening experience, so it’s no surprise that Stockholm-based YEVO Labs joined forces with Humanium Metal by IM to introduce Humanium Metal – a commodity for peace into the YEVO 1 Earphones. Labeled the YEVO x Humanium Metal headphones will be available early 2018, with a portion of the proceeds being donated to IM’s work in five regions and twelve countries worldwide on top of local partner organizations. Nothing about the YEVO 1 themselves change in…
TCL might be known for being a budget TV brand, but their product announcements at CES indicate that they are focused on bringing even more premium features to their TV series, and that includes a major focus on HDR. To that effect, today they announced two new series of 4K UHD TVs with HDR and Dolby Vision.
