There’s something supremely cool about having smart lights in your home that are white when you want but can also be any other colors when you prefer a different vibe. If you have recessed lighting, as I do, you may have considered installing smart floodlights, but if you want to get them from a known brand, they can be as much as $50 per bulb! The new Nanoleaf Matter BR30 Smart Bulbs are reasonably priced, and rather than being from some random maker, they come from Nanoleaf, a well-known smart lighting brand. Let’s take a look.
Nanoleaf made a name for themselves with their color-changing triangular-shaped Light Panels back in 2016. Now they’ve upped the ante with the Nanoleaf Canvas; light squares with edge-to-edge illumination, built-in sound reactivity, touch sensitivity, and a whole lot more. Canvas is a beautiful piece of kinetic artwork that adds brilliant light and a sense of playfulness to any space.
Toronto-based Nanoleaf, who is best known for their popular triangular-shaped Nanoleaf Light Panels, has wowed onlookers at CES 2019 in Las Vegas with their new product, Nanoleaf Canvas. Canvas is made out of edge-to-edge light squares that are touch sensitive, react to music and sound, and integrate with Apple’s Siri, Google Assistant, and Amazon’s Alexa.
If you love design, and you want a unique way to light your living space, then you should look at the nanoleaf Aurora. As they say, “it’s not light, it’s living paint.” The panel pieces snap together like LEGOs, so you can create a design you like and light your room beautifully.
As time goes on, and my CFL bulbs are popping, I’m gradually replacing them with LED bulbs. I can get LED bulbs at Lowe’s for around 9.99 each. When Nanoleaf sent me the Bloom, I was impressed as it will also add dimming features to any lamp or fixture you have, and it looks pretty cool as well.
