The other day we reviewed the Ringke FUSION case for the Sony Xperia Z3 Compact. The company also makes a case for the full size Z3. I picked one up, and I have to say I’m impressed with this simple protective Sony Xperia Z3 case.

The Ringke FUSION Case for the Xperia Z3 has the same design as the one for the smaller version. Like its smaller sibling, this case has a clear back and a clear or smoke-colored bumper that protects the sides of the Z3. This is less necessary on the larger Z3 since, unlike the Compact’s plastic frame, the large Z3 has a sturdy metal one.

The case ships with both a screen protector and a “Ringke Fusion DIY Cutting Guide Tool”. That’s a fancy name for a template that lets you put any design inside the case and have it show through the back. It is a fun idea although it is, for me at least, unnecessary. (I like the way the phone itself looks.)

From Ringke:

World’s clearest and hardest hybrid case, the Ringke FUSION is completed with an anti-scratch coated PC back. The transparent background provides slim and crisp view of the device. Ringke FUSION has a tapered lip and lifted camera bezel that raises your phone to a comfortable height off the surface, keeping the phone safe and protected.

Ringke FUSION is designed to keep your phone protected during everyday use. The TPU cushion absorbs the shock to keep your phone protected.

One nice design-feature are the four-point rear defenders on the back. As Ringke explains,

The rear guard props the cases safely above surface to keep your device free from any harm.

The design also includes covers over the various buttons. The case is specifically designed to protect the buttons while also helping
while still maintaining the slim design of the phone. It is, after all, thinner than its Z2 predecessor and even the Z3 Compact.

Smaller buttons are harder to locate and press. The Active Touch design of Ringke Fusion will help you to use your device easier and protect it at the same time.

The appropriate cutouts are also there …

Finally, even though the Z3 is waterproof without the need for a special cover over the 3.5mm headphone jack, the case has an attached dust cap. As Ringke notes,

We paid attention to every detail when it comes to protecting your phone.
All you have to do is simply pull on the caps when using the ports on your phones. Have the caps closed to keep the dusts out.

In the package are the Ringke FUSION SONY Xperia Z3 Case, the DIY template, an instruction guide, and a complimentary screen protective film.

At the full MSRP, this case is exceptionally overpriced. At the current price of under $11 however it is a good value… and then some. Get yours here.
