Random Useless Stuff: Teva Grey Ant Stilettos

Having a wife who loves shoes and who also loves the outdoors, I have frequently been confronted with her looking for shoes that are functional but look good.

I really don’t think this is remotely what she had in mind! In fact, my wife, her sister, and our 22 year-old niece pretty much called these the stupidest things they’d ever seen!

Random Useless Stuff: Teva Grey Ant Stilettos

Here is the description:

NEW HIGH (M)ART WORLD EXCLUSIVE!

Teva, leader in the sport sandal industry is known for their innovation of performance products and advanced technologies in the footwear industry teamed up with Grey Ant, the two collide to bring you the best of both worlds.

Introducing the most comfortable performance high heel on the planet!

Available in two styles:
1) “Worlds Unite” in Blk/White
2) “Natural” in Tan

Tan has buckle closure. Black has velcro closure.

Comes in a branded (Grey Ant/Teva) kraft collaboration box and lovely net shoe bag.

Limited quantities. First-come, first-served.

So how much will this set you back? $330!

Like most folks, I assumed this was a joke, but it really isn’t – these are shoes which attempt to bridge fashion and functionality to a very small niche audience … but even at that I think it is more of a ‘worst of both worlds’ scenario.

I say that because, well, in ever scenario where you really use Tevas – beach, hiking, gardening, rock-climbing, etc – high heels are impractical if not downright dangerous. And anywhere you would wear heels, chances are you’re going to want something a bit more fashionable than these.

But hey, look at it this way: you can pair it up with some nice gray wool socks to keep your feet warm in the winter months, and with that combination shaving your legs becomes purely optional!

I’ll leave it for the women in the audience to add some more thoughts!
